Yes! AND let's not forget that earlier on after they'd each had their personal time in the diary room he said that he thought Christopher might have taken the money for himself!

Then you have Helen going on about how Chris is different from Ash and Mark by not being trustworthy and that Chris is "making a twat" out of Mark!

At least Christopher, after a few dodgy days, has redeemed himself by pretty much being on the money not only about this but also about the previous night's argument between Helen, Ashleigh and Chris.

I think Ash trusted his own honesty over the rest, and if you look at Chris's answer, Ash was right not to trust the rest.

I know that, but it's the only thing we can judge them on.

They were openly speaking their thoughts in there.

And yep I agree it may not have been the total truth. Chris or Mark may have felt bad about their dishonesty after the got they money and then chose to share it evenly. However that's just speculation, so I think it's best to judge them on their actual actions and words.
