Would you describe Helen as a controversial housemate?

No. There's no debate. She's just a loudmouthed cow.

The pass she was given was I suppose...
Confrontational, not controversial. People like Danielle were far more controversial when it comes to her house image vs her public perception and her not admitting that etc

Probably yes, in that she is someone that others will disagree about. It doesn't have to mean in a bad way however.

Yep I think you're right, that is something that really annoyed viewers and I'm sure bothered the other HMs.

Yeah. The Pass to the Final has contributed to that greatly too though.

Of course she is controversial...Helen is the sort of person who enjoys an opportunity to put people down...especially when she has a crew of arse lickers around her. She is threatened by people that are smarter than her but she also likes to pick on the weak...she is a controversial bully...

No as she is too thick to be so. She is just aggressive based on her insecurities. Its a defense mechanism that was tiring after week 3

Being a bully and a prostitute doesn't make Helen controversial, just sad.

Yes,she is and I like it.
You know what Kazanne I too like controversial people...there is an interesting and admirable thing about people who like to question behaviour, attitude, customer service etc but there is a way of doing it. You have to be fair and you have to be diplomatic and be prepared to listen to the other side of the coin.. But Helen doesn't. She has been seen to realise she handled a situation badly but IMO she doesn't learn from it. She has shown in the last two weeks that she hasn't learnt from her first two weeks after the substantial warnings she got. So for that reason her controversy isn't one to like or respect.

Yes, but only because of the pass: barging around like a bull in a china shop, intimidating other housemates into either silence or compliance with nothing they can do about it.
If she HADN'T had the pass, she'd just have been another thick, affected, loud-mouthed BB twat booted out in the second or third week, like countless others in series' before this one.

I think we can all agree that she is controversial, I adore Helen but I know a lot of people hate her.

Controversial ?
She doesn't even know how to spell it let alone be it!!!!
Anyone who thinks she's controversial doesn't have the first clue what being controversial really is!:laugh3:

Helen causes heated discussions between people due to her personality, her actions and her opinions etc, she has been debated under intense scrutiny and disapproval throughout the series on this forum for an example but also before that with the public in general due to her past, she causes huge divides in opinions.
That definitely sounds like a controversial person to me.

Escort, and that's not something she wanted to do. It was a last resort.

Escort, and that's not something she wanted to do. It was a last resort.
A last resort because she grew up in a middle-class home and wanted to continue to live with a middle-class income, despite having no qualifications or skills? Yes, then I'd agree with that. Otherwise she could have done what my daughter's best friend's mum does (and countless other young single mothers do) and worked hard in three normal jobs and... y'know... not become a prostitute.
Is it fair enough that she would rather turn to prostitution than work harder for less money? I'd say it probably is. It's her body to do as she pleases with. But a "last resort" it clearly was not.
[edited to add]
You do also realise that "escort" is simply a euphemism, right? It's a legal loophole. You're paying "for their time and company", not sex... it just so happens that it turns out they did want to have sex after all. Completely coincidentally, of course. Paid for sex = prostitute, by definition.

Don't be so niave.
Tbh to appear controversial on Big Brother, all you need to do is have a little bitch about someone and then there's huge debates and side-taking on it all around. Anywhere else it might sound like something significant, but in BB everything gets blown up into weird proportions.

I don't understand why the escorting stuff is still being brought up anymore as a way for people who dislike her to try and detract from Helen's time in the house. She has clearly moved on with her life and now owns her own business.
Also just to throw it out there but some of the people who keep going on about her escorting pass were not happy last year when members were bringing up Jim Davidson's past cases of homophobia and domestic violence so why was that deemed as past but Helen is forever a *****?

No she is not the most controversial housemate ever.
Depending on how you interpret the word, but for me the more controversial people
were bb13 Connor and his behaviour towards Deanna, bb14 Daleys behaviour towards Hazel, even hazel herself was way more controversial than Helen. There have also been better bitches than her Grace bb5, Gina bb14. Helen is predictable & boring by comparison.

I'd imagine people are asking because Helen used that word in a description of herself and Ashleigh didn't think it applied to her

She is seen as controversial simply due to that damn ugly footballer!
Even he's stunned he has a wife and doesn't have to pay women to sleep with him anymore.

It seems Helens view of herself is very different from others.
I am not this, or that she cries, Yes Helen you are exactly that, how many times do you need telling.
You back your group 100% but are foul to anyone not in your group, yes you are confrontational but not to anyone in your group, you are dreadful to those you don't like.
Cry all you like but the lack of empathy you showed to others is now directed back at you.

Having a wife IS pretty much paying someone to sleep with you:joker:

..she isn't by most people though, maybe a few and that would be expected for a housemate where a past was more well known and in the same way that unfair things are said about Ashleigh about her upbringing but mostly it's only Helen's time in the house that is discussed and Lord knows that's been enough...

I would say she is conroversial in so far as girls like her who have affairs with celebrities (in her case, a well know footballer) would normally be associated or part of the CBB. she has ven given TV interviews. Which BB she should be in is controversial enough. But then there are a few of this years HMs who, in one way or another, have already been on TV, Zoe, Mark, Winston, Biannca and could have qualified for CBB, especially considering how some how have appeared on CBB have done a lot less to be given the title of Celebrity. So in this case I have voted YES.
I'd say no, she's rude and dumb. Not really controversial
