View Full Version : Has Ash got through by riding the coattails of Helen?

I think the Housemates have recently clocked onto the fact that when Ash is nominated Helen gets arsey/argumentative etc so has that struck fear into the housemates? Especially during face to face noms, I don't think many HMs had to balls to nominate Ash because Helen was literally glaring at them - if he was actually nominated last week I think he would have gone instead of Winston.
So is the fact that he's in the final because of Helen, like Jeff and Jordan, or because no one had any reason to nominate him and his opinion is completely wrong.
Nah I don't think so. He faced eviction a lot in there so being friends with Helen never helped at all in that respect. In fact had he not been so close to Helen he would probably do even better in the final IMO.

Ash has just been Helen's pet.
He's kept a low enough profile that others have gone out when he's been up.
But staying in this long doesn't make him a winner - he's been a bore.

He's still faces eviction a lot and if anything he would of been more liked without Helen. He just wasn't fake enough to change his opinion on her as soon as it was clear she was hated.

Potentially, but at the time of the face to face noms, they'd just about established a harmonious group, and probably didn't want to ruin that by nomming him. Even though it would make more sense to nominate someone who you haven't been as close to for 7-8 weeks, I imagine it wouldn't be taken well when they were meant to be "friends" now.
Though it also wouldn't surprise me if they were **** scared of nominating him in front of Helen. Only a few days earlier Pav said that Ash was the person who made the least effort with him, but didn't nominate him.

I agree with what people have said in this thread. It's quite the opposite since Helen was quite a significant reason for her other friends being evicted.
I think Ash has got to the final by luck if anything.

Sums it up perfectly.

Ash has been too background and irrelevant to any major ongoings to be picked off in a VTE.

He was up constantly and boo'd constantly due to Helen, so I doubt he's ridden her coattails. He'd of been better off being besties with Ashleigh tbh, he's a funny guy and seems really self conscious ever since he found out people thought he was boring. I notice it alot especially during the CV task today, he clearly can't keep a crazy flow of words coming out like other HMs can, but that's fine? He's just a quiet guy who comes out with cracking one liners, and that isn't boring, it's just not Mark or Helen. Shame he's had to slightly change in the last few weeks and is worried now whenever the spotlight is on him, not really deserved...

Not fake enough? He obviously likes her as a mate so why should he fob her off just because she's hated?

I don't think he's riding on her coat tails.
Almost the opposite - he's stood by her even though he knows she's not popular.
..yeah I think he has but the its a double edged thing because may cost him a better place...tbh, I don't think it's something I would even hold against him anymore because I think that however they got through was just hard enough in this BB..just surviving it....

I have never got why people say things like this about ash, he does a lot more than most of remaining HMs, what on earth does ashleigh, chris and christopher do that makes them stand out other than sit around talking, usually moaning, they have never done anything else at all. what exactly would u like ash to do to stand out more, no sarky replies if u dont mind

I'm with you on that, the same argument is thrown at Pav. I believe it is used because they haven't done anything bad, and are actually good prospects to win.
he's been kept in by Ashleigh.

I see nobody came forward with reasons that make ashleigh, etc. stand out more. u have to back up why ash hasn't done enough to stand out, yet those 3 have. dont make statements u cant support
