Danity Kane is no more ... TMZ has learned the group has broken up after a recording session turned violent.

TMZ broke the story ... Aubrey O'Day got sucker punched by Dawn Richard Monday. She says, "Sadness does not even remotely begin to describe what I feel right now."

Shannon Bex says, "I now must walk away feeling used and manipulated."

The group reunited in May of last year, but had nothing but trouble. Aundrea Fimbres bailed almost immediately and the girls just couldn't pull it together.

They had almost completed their new album, and it's unclear if it will ever be released.

I'm gutted about this, they looked good as a trio, without the dead weight. Dawn's a snake, Aubrey's a fair weather friend, Aundrea's flaky as ****, D Woods is trashy and mouthy... I just feel sorry for Shannon, she's the only professional among them. I hope we still get to hear the album, it seemed promising: All In A Day's Work, Rhythm Of Love, Bye Baby, Rage and Lemonade were all great and showed a variety in sound and style yet all seemed pretty cohesive. Some clips have emerged from their scrapped reality series which show Dawn acting on her own self interests rather than the group's which for me just confirms how two faced she is; she was clearly only putting time into the group to try and get her solo career off the ground again. It's a huge shame, they're a very slick, talented group of ladies, it's a pity there were too many egos getting in the way of greatness.

To be fair it's not as messy as the first time around, when Diddy split the group up for the sake of his TV program. That was just downright madness. I think the problem is that there are too many egos in the band and nobody in charge of them telling them to rein it in.

Apparently the album will be released in October and is available for pre-order on US iTunes, I'm at work so haven't been able to listen to anything yet but I'm glad they've put their differences aside to get the album finished and released, even if nothing will be promoted seemingly :/

Some of the songs we've heard already sound a bit disappointing in studio form, like I was expecting All In A Day's Work to be this big arena rock sounding track and Rhythm Of Love to have a bit more bass but I'm glad it's coming all the same. I want to own a physical copy!

Aubrey O´Day? Oh... the one finished fourth in that Celebrity Apprentice season that Arsenio Hall won.

Didn´t really care for her. As for Danity Kane, i had never heard of it before CA, so no harm done.

Aubrey's very marmite but they are/were a fantastic group, slick dancers, good singers - Dawn in particular is really distinctive and they always put on a good show. Sort of a Pussycat Dolls if PCD were all singers and shared vocals, really.
