View Full Version : Helen is boring.
She is so predictable, it is getting boring watching her now as I know how she is going to react to any given situation. It's tedious, she's tedious.
Ash is actually making her look ok as he seems to have his head screwed on.
What a travesty if she gets any higher than 6th place, she has spoilt the series this year and is as respectful to other peoples feelings as dennis the Scottish hm.

She has a great many faults, I fully understand why she has strong supporters and strong hostility too.
One of the things she really cannot be termed as, in my view, however is boring.

I'm disappointed that we didn't get to see a house without Helen and what the other HMs would have been like without Helens cloud of doom making them feel so defensive all the time

I'm surprised there isn't a shape of Helen's behind on the smoking couch. Thats where she spends her day, doling out her wisdom...

:joker:Actually I would have liked to have seen a house with none of this lot in and a whole new bunch of housemates.

lol, there's always next year Joey  I think the theme didn't help matters either, kept them very much on edge all the way through, would really love to see a proper back to basics theme next year

Gotta say I agree with that -
What we've got to work with as viewers this time is pretty dismal
- and yeah I have got totally bored with both Helen and Ashleigh.

I have intensely disliked this theme too Niamh, for me it has stifled a lot of progression the housemates may have been able to make over the series.
Hopefully as you say a more back to basics series next year will follow..
This one for me has been near torture to watch really, I only stuck with it out of some loyalty to the idea of BB.

I did enjoy the series but at times it was just too much, I could almost feel myself tensing up watching it sometimes

One of the things she really cannot be termed as, in my view, however is boring.
But she is boring. She has two buttons and one is stuck on 11.
She said it herself in the morgue, when watching the screens and people having fun, the house is never like that when she is around.
Without her the HM's would of meshed more. Winston and Ashleigh seemed to get on, ignoring what he's said since getting the boot. And the problem that Ashleigh and Ash had with each other seemed to dissipate as the weeks went on. Chris, Ash and Winston spent quite a while in the smoking area together, so there was no problems there either. Christopher who has had a hard time from Helen, would have been able to chat to Mark more freely, without feeling that there was someone else whispering in his ear - as he stated himself. The removal of Helen would have made for a relaxed house.
The reverse can't be said for the removal of Ashleigh. With Helen, her click would always be kept tight. Ash and Winston would always side with her. Chris would have been more excluded, as he was in the past. Christopher would still have had his confrontations with Helen, and had the same issues with Mark.
Remove Helen, the divide crumbles, the house integrates, making for more fun. Keep Helen, the divide remains, more doom and gloom, which is boring.

Yes she is boring. As Ive said on another thread housemates from other series have been more controversial and therefore more interesting than her. Eg Daley/Hazel from bb14,
Connor/Deanna from bb13.
The all time Queen bitch for me was Gina from bb14, she bitched with some class & style
and would have nailed Helen to the floor.

This was a 'powerhouse'...They were chosen for their strength of character, one twentysomething woman dominated the whole house? I think not.

Helen could be called a lot of things but boring isn't one of them. I for one am glad she got that pass to the final cos love her or hate her she has been a huge character in this years Big Brother and it is the first time EVER I have done a U turn on someone I classed as a complete and utter bitch in the first few weeks. That says something. I have seen more than the outer shell and I am glad she is in the final. Boring is Chris in particular but most of the housemates could have b een classed as boring at some stage in the series
Probably is a lesson that "strength" of character isn't that interesting. Who really cares after a while if people who have little self -awareness can be stubborn, aggressive, nasty, insensitive and gobby?
Perhaps they could try for "interesting" characters next time.
Hopefully they'll learn that giving anyone a free pass to the final is not something to be repeated.
Hopefully they'll learn that they will totally mess the dynamics of the show up if they show too much of the DR scenes to the other HMs.

I've enjoyed Helen this series
She has done my head in many times, but she has shown self reflection, regret and self deprecating humour many times - unlike Ashleigh who bitches as much as Helen but with less anger and no remorse
Helen has shown a lot of depth and it's been much needed in a house full of many cardboard characters
It's a good thing it's ending soon then.

That's true but I wasn't judging this by comparing those two people. I was judging this by the fact that for the last 3 weeks I've turned over to watch something else when Helen or Ashleigh is on the screen too much. I get it -I'm bored with it. I'm sorry that there hasn't been much else to talk about it appears - it's a pretty dud series for me.
Every single series we have people showing regret, apologising and crying in the DR because they are sooo sorry for how they behave - so I guess I just don't get over-excited about it. I do acknowledge that others may not do that though.
I'm hoping that there will be some fresh ideas next time around.

Helen has shown no dept. She hasn't changed. The only difference is that the other HM's are more aware of how to step around her.

Helen could've been great,If she'd gone around 3-4 weeks in.She got really tedious after a while. She's put a dark cloud over the series just for the fact she's been in there way too long. She was entertaining for a very short while but just ruined things after that

She is very predictable and repetitive, and also very irritating in situations like when she eavesdropped. Complete hypocrite who can do no wrong in her own eyes, the finalist pass was a joke.

Yeah you are right it does get predictable and ends up feeling like old ground.
I think there has been some brave ideas this year (golden pass, killer nomination etc) but they have not necessarily worked for the good of the show. I guess it's hard to tell until you try.
But there has been an excessive level of BB production meddling with twists etc this year which has affected the organic process of the show and HMs relationships playing out naturally. I guess the production team work hard to avoid any boring moments which is understandable.
The choice of HM as well makes the whole thing predictable - they always choose big egos and confrontational types. Then they create tasks to stir everyone up against each other.
Perhaps the freshest idea would be to put in the most interesting HMs they can find, leave it to evolve naturally and show the subtle moments of human interaction rather than 'crazy party time' and have vote to save rather than evict.
But then would everyone find that 'old skool' BB approach too boring in this day and age? It's a tough one.

I think this post is probably spot on in my view.
Maybe I should have just stopped watching and accept that I've probably overdone it a bit on BB.
Maybe others will catch up to this view in time.
I like the "freshest idea" but as you say, that may not work either.
Ah well such is life :)

After watching the court scenario, Helen has been made aware of her faults without her being able to answer back.
She cried, but she needed to be shown what she was, she became repetative and boring as we all knew what she would say.
I could write her part, no trouble

I can, I found her boring (but not just her) and I've found this year's BB to be a dud.
..the thing is that I think Helen and her group were just as one dimensional as they say the other group are but it's just a different dimension of arguments etc but those became much less interesting and entertaining because it's all there was...

I know, such is the addictive nature of BB. After weeks of watching, you cannot stop. Even though round about now it's easy to get 'big brothered' out.
Even worse when summer CBB starts. I need desperately a BB break but still can't help watching all of summer CBB when it's the last thing i need after a mammoth civilian BB summer. But like you say, such is life

I know, it can be hard to accept that not everyone finds every single "drama" that others can drum up as the most interesting thing going on in life - but it's true.
I'll accept however that some do find this kind of drama like just the most exciting and compelling stuff going on. Fair play to you, you get good value then and I lose out :(
It's boring, she's boring and the drama she creates got boring weeks ago.
