View Full Version : Why can't the producers just leave things alone

I am so sick of twist upon twist upon twist tbh.

Big Brother was at it's very best when there was no interference from the producers, the outside world, ex housemates, twists and so on, why can't they see this?

I honestly think some of the interference now comes down to newer viewers thinking the show needs constant drama to thrive, the producers picked up on this and try (normally failing) to cater to it when really the majority of hardcore fans just want them to leave things alone and let the show progress naturally over the series like it used to.

15 or more strangers in a house over the course of 10 weeks don't need anyone to start drama or arguments for them, they will come naturally IF they are kept in the house with NO outside contact at all.

AND STOP MESSING WITH THE NOMINATIONS.

The extent to which this show has became a parody of itself is crazy. Sadly, I don't think it's going to stop anytime soon if C5 have anything to do with it.

I would love a back to basics series.

How else would they manipulate who wins?

Same here Braden but I honestly don't think it will ever happen now, it's as if the producers are sitting watching thinking 'what can we do' 'we need a twist' 'lets interfere'

We've had about 20 of these threads these summer, all saying the same thing.

They're never gonna stop unfortunately, no matter how much of a fuss we make.

I agree, they are messing around with it too much and it is off putting. The messing around with noms, the bad editing and the deliberate attempts of causing arguments and tensions in the house rather than letting these things progress naturally as they would in a house of 15 strangers.

I agree with your point. However truthfully i think you said it in your post with the words "Hardcore fans".Hardcore fans will watch anyway,They're probably trying to attract more casual viewers by dramatising it and adding the twists for 'entertainment'.I agree though,I wish they'd just leave it alone.

I do believe that the HMs should live in a vacuum, with no outside knowledge. Twits, messages from home, Friday crowds should all be banned. Radio silence increases paranoia.

Rations, alcohol, cigarettes, parties, should become luxuries, not a given. Basic shopping should be basic, not just cut down.

Stupid things like trying to provoke fights should be banned. An example would be playing Ashleigh talking to Helen twice, the producers were looking for an argument.

More difficult tasks that challenge the HMs are great. Loved the money challenge. The HMs did all the hard work, it was very revealing.

HMs struggling through weekly tasks, knowing that their food depends on it, makes for team building and entertainment. Drunken HMs with too much time on their hands leads to BB 2014.

Totally agree, the show is designed to test HM ability to cope with being incarcerated in a small area for a long period of time with total strangers and no or minimal contact with the outside world.

I was shocked to see them watching a BB focus group discussing the HM and their perceptions in the outside world. This is done obviously to mess with the HM heads but in my opinion it's not in keeping with the spirit of the programme.

No contact with OW only with BB that is the show it cannot be compromised or else the show loses it's identity.

Christopher or Ashleigh to win...:wavey::wavey:

tbh they've done it so much now over the last 2-3 years that it just wouldn't feel the same without a big twist every few weeks

I've said this before there are Twists because it's a Theme series and the producers fill the need to make loads of twists around the Power theme

That's why I want no Theme series next year because it gives the producers a chance to mess with nominations etc

Very good post and I totally agree. This year they where given to much free time and an easy ride.

Making them understand that the real enemy is not each other but the BB would make for a more interesting show.
