Riight, i've never read a book in my life but for christmas i'm going to ask for some. Can you recomend me some that i might enjoy? Even if you just tell me some good ones you like, i'll search them somewhere and see what there like.
Because, if i get some for christmas day then i could maybe read a full book before my 16th birthday.
Thanks in advance.

Vere hard novel to describe but....
Elsewhere
How do you describe "Elsewhere"? A novel so astoundingly original and carefully crafted that its complexities become common place and the common place resounds with poetry! In this delightful novel death is a beginning, a new start. Liz is killed in a hit a run accident and her 'life' takes a very unexpected turn. At nearly sixteen she knows she will never get married, never have children, and perhaps never fall in love. But in "Elsewhere" all things carry on almost as they did on earth except that the inhabitants get younger, dogs and humans can communicate (at last) new relationships are formed and old ones sadly interrupted on earth are renewed. Fully of the most ingenious detail and woven around the most touching and charming relationships this is a novel of hope, of redemption and re-birth. It is a novel that tells of sadness with heart-breaking honesty and of love and happiness with uplifting brilliance.

It's quite a light read (for your first book :nono:). And I was a judge in the North-East Book Awards and she was a candidate and I met her etc, she was very nice and she won the award. So it's a very good book.

Oh my god. I just read this post and I have THE best book for you if you're serious about wanting crime.
It's a true story, like a memoir about this college student who started a Psychology paper on serial killers and he began to write to them while they were on death row, and he masked himself as their perfect victim and stuff. And they all wrote back to him, and he developed a friendship with them all and one imparticular; John Wayne Gacy. And he met him in jail and scary things happened and stuff. It's interesting, scary and if you're a bit intefrested in Psychology it's good aswell cos it lets you have an insight into a serial killers mind (fun fun!)

People who loved the curious incident of the dog in the night time!!
If you loved that the author has got a new book out called "A spot of bother" it is very good but more for alduts but who cares.
George Hall doesn't understand the modern obsession with talking about everything. 'The secret of contentment, George felt, lay in ignoring many things completely.' Some things in life, however, cannot be ignored. At fifty-seven, George is settling down to a comfortable retirement, building a shed in his garden, reading historical novels, listening to a bit of light jazz. Then Katie, his tempestuous daughter, announces that she is getting remarried, to Ray. Her family is not pleased - as her brother Jamie observes, Ray has 'strangler's hands'. Katie can't decide if she loves Ray, or loves the wonderful way he has with her son Jacob, and her mother Jean is a bit put out by all the planning and arguing the wedding has occasioned, which get in the way of her quite fulfilling late-life affair with one of her husband's former colleagues. And the tidy and pleasant life Jamie has created crumbles when he fails to invite his lover, Tony, to the dreaded nuptials. Unnoticed in the uproar, George discovers a sinister lesion on his hip, and quietly begins to lose his mind. The way these damaged people fall apart - and come together - as a family is the true subject of Mark Haddon's disturbing yet very funny portrait of a dignified man trying to go insane politely.
