I just bought some kefir milk and water grains, they are live culture that you grow yourself and add to milk or water to make a probiotic drink.

(I didn't buy from this site, just posted for the info)

Have you tried natural yogurt? it's like that you can put fruit in it, you can strain it to make cheese and have it on crackers. There's lots of instruction vids on youtube to help you adjust it to find something you like tom :D

Just to add the water kefir isn't yogurt or sour, it feeds on sugar and ferments so you end up with a drink like pop, if you bottle it it gets very fizzy.

Is that brewers yeast, or do you mean whiskey? ;)

Update on the kefir, have made lots now and it's lovely! Even made some cream cheese from it :)
The water kefir was trickier as you have to be careful it doesn't ferment for too long as then its wine... :/ no good for me that is it? :joker:

Update, been on it a bit now and I feel really good, which is surprising as I'm on strong antibiotics atm .. doc said 'these will knock you on your arse' ( in doc language) still standing though :)
Trying to promote it, my milk grains have grown and they produce a really thick creamy live yogurt... if anyone wants some grains PM me :D
Quick tutorial ( it uses goats milk but I only use organic full fat milk)
