Alert: Do not use Tinypic for image hosting (Retrieve censored images on Pg 2)

I know many of you like using TinyPic for hosting pictures, but please do not use it any longer to put pictures on TiBB. This is because TinyPic uses a system in which they delete or bump photos off the website, and then use that picture url for another image. This can have disturbing consequences in which an innocent post can turn very graphic. People can upload Anything to it, so your images can suddenly turn into pictures of Dead bodies, gore, anything D: I've discovered this from reading threads from the past.

Instead, Please use any of these:
imgur- Quick, fast and your pictures don't get deleted. (imgur.com)
PostImg- Fast and you can resize annoyingly big photos (http://postimage.org/)
Photobucket- Sign Up only, and your pictures can only be viewed by a limited number of people. (photobucket.com)

I'd suggest using imgur, it is the best image sharing service out there.

Yeah, I remember, us two found it in the Mole thread D:
It was the Mole logo that turned into a picture of an old woman with flowers, which turned into a picture of a dead person :sad:

Nope, Imgur is the safest one out there. I think what Nathan was trying to say the situation in which his Elimination logo in his sig (hosted on tinypic) turned into a baseball player and ben blamed the mods when it was infact tinypic bumping his picture off to put another on. We eventually got him to switch to imgur :laugh:

Actually I stumbled across it while trying to post a pic to this forum, the owner of the pic was one of those "no hotlink" sorts who had decided to replace the picture of the "awesome" smiley to... well... that. D:

Easy way to back up
If you weren't quick enough to back up your pics before TinyPic got erased by TiBB, there is an easy way to retrieve your beloved images.

Highlight the censored address and right click it. Click 'Search on Google', or if your browser doesn't allow this, just copy and paste it into google.
Hurray! The first result should be TiBB, and the description will have the uncensored link. Copy and Paste this into imgur, and upload it. There. Your image is backed up.

I only use imgur anyway. Only ever used tinypic on another forum when I did all their media articles.

I might change it so that it doesn't censor Tinypic addresses for new posts. When I get a chance.

James, You might want to make it uncensored for 24 hrs to make sure people can update old threads (e.g The Mole) and restore pictures of logos and stuff on imgur.

Yes but there is old threads still running in 2014, so it stops people seeing the changed images. For example, The 'Let's see your desktop thread' has images hosted on tinypic. one of those pictures, posted in 2009, turned into 3 dead babies. Does that seem like an over reaction to you? :shrug:
