The way I see it is that Gary made himself an open target the previous night trying to shush the housemates in the bedroom. I knew it would come back to haunt him. They now want to play pranks on him to irk him. It is certainly wrong to do so but if he can find a way of laughing at them they might leave him alone.
I am beginning to like Gary but I still feel that Big Brother is NOT the series for him to appear in. There are always night time shenanigans, loud housemates and lewd comments. If I were his age and having his stature as an actor I would run a mile from BB no matter WHAT they offered me. Just my humble opinion

I agree with this and the original post.
Gary may not be the easiest person to live with but many of the reasons for that stem from health issues.
"So what? That ain't the other HM's ****ing fault, is it?" may be the gist of some people's thoughts on this. No, but it will be the measure of their decency and compassion as human beings.
Even with that to one side, you had a bunch of younger people who should know better being incredibly unkind and thoughtless to a man in his 70s who was trying to sleep.
I found it probably more unpleasant to watch than most, if not all, of this year's civilian BB altercations.
It was cheap.

OK but he did bring it on himself with his "up the ar*e" comments to James & "his tubes of vaseline" comments about Leslie.
He's a bigot who tried to lie his way out of it saying it was a joke.
I'm no fan of James but that doesn't stop Gary being an uneducated bigot, that's why they joked that he'd went to sleep with a man,
As Gary and his supporters here would say they should just say to Gary "it was only a joke"
see how he likes it, when others use a lie about it being just a joke to cover up the true meaning behind it.
They clearly did it to show quite correctly in my opinion that they knew Gary wasn't joking and they don't like him for being the prejudiced bully he is.
Bet not many on here talk about him being a bully.
He was over the top when he ordered James to stand up wasn't he ?

Agree and I am wondering if this was also James intention. If so then imo he got the worst of it.

like you are considering garys age - you have to consider the young ones age. they are all excited - in a new environment - maybe a little drunk and have no outside pressure ie getting up for work - they must be allowed to enjoy themselves.
i thought that was hallirious how it ended and yes i have sympathy for gary and to show it i will include that in my next poem.

I was brought up to respect my elders, Gary to me would be like my dad's age, i couldn't be disrespectful to someone of that age, it's about compassion, empathy and patience all of which has escaped some (not all!) of the younger generation, yes they want to have fun and that's great, but then have fun elsewhere!
And i look forward to reading your poem:spin:
