View Full Version : Could CBB benefit without nominations?

Do you think nominations are essential in Celebrity Big Brother or do you think CBB could function better without them? What would CBB be if each week every housemate faced the public vote and the person with the least votes to save is evicted? Nominations are crucial to Big Brother's identity, but could CBB benefit without them?
Just sparking up a bit of a discussion here (we're talking about CBB, not BB)

Nah I like nominations, would be disappointing to see them removed.
I still think they should have nominations in any format

No because it becomes more of a popularity contest within the house

I'd like to see them all up every week.
I'm coming to the same conclusion for civilian BB as well because normal nominations without twists seem to be a thing of the past.

It helps make people discuss their relationships in the house though, otherwise we'd have no clue.

They should do what BBAus did one year. Everyone faces the public vote every week, vote to save.
Then on a Friday the two housemates with the least votes are revealed. The housemates then nominate who they want to evict out of those 2.

I can't believe they're doing them so early though.

I only ask this because there is no real prize at the end of CBB like there is with the civilian series. Nominations are important there as you want to "get rid of the enemy" almost

That would be interesting.

Are the housemates choosing who is evicted out of the two?

I kinda wish they'd just do this for the civilian series too and on a vote to save we'd have the most amazing finalists ever.
That or have no evictions, a house full of Pauline's and Toya's and Helen's etc for 10 weeks :flutter: Fight Night 3 would be guaranteed
edit: you'd keep the vote to save a rolling one and perhaps you could even have updates each week about housemates positions, might be interesting to see how people's popularity changed week on week. That'd make it a real competition amongst fans and would probably increase revenue as well

Housemates will be saved over others and will then be unbearable smug and think there loved

This.
It pisses me off when they don't do proper nominations, so a whole series without any wouldn't really interest me at all.

It would be interesting, even if for one series. I do like the nominations every week as long as they are untouched, otherwise it's a pointless process. But having no nominations all series is a big twist that will benefit the series, rather than hinder.

Eh?
You edited your original post, at first you said they choose who they want to nominate out of the two and I was asking for some clarification

Bb would benefit without public vote imo.

I would love the BBUS format to be introduced, the only issue is that the public wouldn't be aware of it (only fans who watch the US series) so I can't help but think it'll have a drop in ratings as fans will no longer feel involved.

Their nominations process is great and the producers are strict when it comes to nominations discussing. Our producers only care when it suits them.
