Nobody deserves to get outcasted unless under very extreme circumstances. All it does is show the ignorance of others and how they can't deal with people who are just a bit different to themselves.

I honestly think that none of us can determine what Gary can hear and what he cant, we are not in his situation. It must be very frustrating for him and the others havent been together long enough to try and help him. They are just following the sheep at the moment. They will need to separate themselves from the three who so far are controlling the situation along with the little man

Yes, James IS digging his own grave, horrible person, telling an elderly person who is also hearing disabled to "look at me when I am talking", what a self important squirt he is. BB very clever in telling HIM to be the HM who makes sure Gary is not ostrosized when its him has been working hard to get that done.

..I thought it was perfect the way BB put it to James to ask him to help the other housemates with more tolerance to Gary and turning it back on him in a positive way...I understand that Gary asking people to repeat themselves because he hasn't heard or he hasn't understood accents or they speak too quickly for his understanding or whatever is annoying and interrupting conversations because he probably can't hear all the voices in multiple conversations and with so much going on is also annoying but he's only genuinely trying to understand and participate...
..anyway, celebrities in general are not known for their tolerance in BB as they have agendas for going in and that's their main focus/themselves but I think Gary probably has more tolerance of anyone else in the house with his life experiences and the variation of people he has met..and in asking them to repeat themselves/trying to join the conversation even if it's sometimes not the best moment shoes he's listening and interested which I think he is...I actually could cry for his confusion since he's been there, I wish the housemates could see beyond their irritations....

Of course he was. It was on the verge of bullying - singling out and attacking a 70 year old man with hearing prblems. His hearing clearly affects ommunication with the other hms. leading to misunderstanings. He makes an easy target. Shame on James and others for thier obvious lack of intelligence and lack of compassion.

You accuse Gary of being rude when so many of the other younger hms are unbeliveably rude and selfish with their behaviour in the bedroom when other hms are trying to sleep - no confusion over their obvious lack of consideration and downwright rude behaviour.
Gary is an old man with hrearing issues affecting communcation with the others which must be very frustrating for him - the others have far less excuse than him for frustration and rude behaviour.
Personally I think it is quite brave for a man of his age and celeb status to travel from America to participate in such a show in Britain full of youngsters desperate for public recognition. I bet most of them will never be in a position to be asked when they are 70. Noone will remember any of them.

James has shown himself up to be a right wanker in my view. He's one of those types who is happy to take the piss and joke around, but only on his terms.
I'm also getting a bit sick of his 'in this country' statements. He does not represent the rest of the UK with his standards and rules on humour. If Leslie had been offended by James bending over then this would have went a whole different way, but Leslie went along with the joke, Gary joined in, then James blew the whole thing out of proportion.
His behaviour in last night's highlights wasn't much better. David needs to sort himself out as well. He talks fast, and has an accent, yet can't handle that Gary can barely hear him and when he does hear him, he has trouble understanding him.
James/David fancy themselves as the alpha-males of the house. They both come across as a pair of self-absorbed twats to me.

IN THIS COUNTRY is a fair thing to say.. No blinkers here. The guy is far more entertaining than most of the other attention seeking wannabees in there. His is entertainment gold. Most of the others would kill to have the chance of the career he has had.
He may not be pefect and he may need the money, but how does that detract from the guts it takes for a 70 year old to rravel far from his comfort zone to compete in a show full of fame hungry wannabees desperate for more than money alone. I don't know the facts of the allegations you make, but in my book that makes him no less deserving than the likes of people who simply take their clothes off to gain fame or talentless wannabees known simply for their role in trashy relaity shows such as Towie and Geordie Shore.
Based on his successful acting career, and he was a good actor, Gary has more right than most to be on a show calling itself 'Celebrity' Big Brother.

You really don't like Gary do you and that is your right. But this looking at him business is riduculous. For a start you don't know why he isn't looking at him, maybe it is something to do with his brain injury, maybe he wasn't going to be spoken to by the jumped-up James like that - if he had told me to ook at him whilst he was talking to me, I wouldn't have looked at him either - who the hell does he think he is.

Im also aware of his cancer in his sinus cavity.. I am also aware of the cocaine addiction, the spousal battery and the animal abuse. Im sick to the back teeth of hearing "poor Gary is disabled" NO. :nono:
His biggest handicap/restriction now is his age. That however is not self-inflicted and comes to us all.
A bit of Karma is what some of these fools need and a good dose of what gioes around comes around when their time comes.
One would hope that commone decency would come before Karma does. From some things I read on here, it seems there won't be much chance of that.
You know, Im sick of hearing this. I honestly didn't realise there were so many apologists out there for rude arrogant abusive old farts. I really do worry for society.
I worry for society more when it's becoming clear both inside and outside the house how intolerant some people can be.

I love how people make assumptions. I am sure if you asked Busey himself, he would be OUTRAGED that you assume he is handicapped by his age...
The problem with the majority of society from what I see is it's all COMMON with no decency, and definitely no bloody mirrors.

I am PROUD to be intolerant of homophobia, arrogance, rudeness, physical abuse, mental abuse, animal abuse, just SOME of the things this fool represents.. yes, I am PROUD of my intolerance.

You keep referring to his age - 'old creep/old fart' which stronglysuggests ageism, which has me worried for society if this is a common opinion of young people today.
James's lack of consideration for Gary's age has been more disturbing to me than anything Gary has said or done on the show.

Again, Im sure your character assassinations will mortify them when they leave the house...
No doubt. I myself am particularly devastated by the picking apart of my post.

In this country we don't threaten to hit 70yr olds either james.

..... I have gone right off James, I think he is an attention-seeking coward who will take on what he considers 'weaker' targets in order to big-himself up.
This 100%

Might be a first for us Kizzy, but I totally agree with you here..

In some ways, getting old is a handicap (handicap is not a dirty word - it basically means restriction). With the commonly related physical and cognitive health issues people become more vulnerable and sleep becomes much more important to their general physical and phychlogical function and well-being. It isn't complicated and why anyone of any age should be able to get it.

I love you class me within the bracket of "young people"
How many times did James say, in the bedroom, I am not going to argue with you Gary, you are older than me and I respect my elders... or did you have hearing disabilities when he said that?

Age is NOT a handicap.
You see Busey is 70, you are therefore looking at a little check list that says by the time you reach 70 you SHOULD have this, that, this, the other, and that, "issue".
Don't make assumptions about how his age affects him. Don't make excuses for him.
There is no need for your patronising manner.. I have never ONCE said handicap is a dirty word, and I am more than capable of understanding what handicap means. I am also more than capable of understanding that you cannot and should not assume someone is handicapped by something, unless they themselves express that opinion and share it. How dare you?

The use of 'in quote' emboldened snippets is a rather unusual replying style.

I disagree. It reminds people of the FACTS.

No it actually adds nothing of worth at all to the discussion to repeat the same things over and over, in fact it would be described as spam and that's against the rules.

As I work in the medical profession I know how age generally affects most people. There are always the exceptions to the rule but most people experience the restrictions (handicap) of age by the time they are 70. And yes I dare to say that because it is fact, not an offencive comment.
