Can he not keep saying "we as a country", "that's not how it goes in Britain", "we're not in America" "in this country"... etc. It's so patronising and since when is he a spokesperson for our country?

I actually brought this up in another 'James' thread. He certainly does not speak for me when he starts with his 'we' nonsense.

Same, especially in his condescending tone.

Hes too opinionated. Fair enough everybody has an opinion but there's a time when people can hold back and he just seems to shove his down others throats without warning

"we don't speak like that in this country" oh please, Julian Clary won this show. Sit down.

Quote from Shaun on Wednesday's highlights thread about James. Says it all for me.

Is that just Britain? No. He brings nationality into it when it doesn't need to be as though he's constantly conscious of "Gary's American".

Gary is Gary, what he's doing is connected to his hearing etc, nothing to do with being an American in England.

As though he's insinuating you can be rude in America but not Britain. He himself disproves that rule instantly. :idc:

There is far too much emphasis being put on Gary's hearing issues.
He is often rude and ignorant to people when he knows full well they are talking to him... he interrupts and is rude.

The difference between the two is that what Frenchy did is extremely entertaining and what James does it just infuriating and tiresome to watch.

I could say there is far too much emphasis being put on Gary's "rudeness" and not enough on the lack of patience of some other housemates who don't seem considerate enough to take others needs into account. They selfishly just focus on themselves.

Considering his struggle to hear and understand accents has led to the majority of his problems/altercations in the house I'd say so it's perfectly valid to include it in conversation.

Gary barges into other people's conversations, tells them to shut up and wags his finger in their faces. He needs to be told when to wash and doesn't appreciate offers of help, responding to them with abruptness/rudeness.

Sounds like a really nice guy then.

Surprised he didn't get 13 noms rather than just 8.

Agreed.

Gary can be rude at times in ways which I don't think are affected by his impairment. But a lot of the time the housemates cite having to repeat themselves as a reason for disliking him, so yes, emphasis does need to be put on his hearing impairment and the other housemates' lack of tolerance for it.

You can't just list someone's faults then claim they're a bad person without any consideration of their good points. I'm sure one of your mates could list your faults too but doesn't make you a bad person

Also, I agree with all the points about Gary apart from the first one. "Barge" is such an emotive word which is completely unnecessary - he enters conversations which EVERYBODY else does since BB is a SOCIAL experiment, where they're meant to interact with each other. Why is it "barging" when Gary does it but not when anybody else does?

Also he does appreciate help sometimes and not at others.

OK flppiing Eck, you and some are down on Gary like a ton of bricks, this is natural in BB. We cannot all agree but, why dont you all let us know who you really want to win and then debate on that as well. So far as I can see Gary has a tremendous lot of support and I do not think that many will fall. If they do they do but the majority will be loyal I am sure.

So who do you really want to win, let us debate your choices......then mabe you can all relax.....

We havent heard him slag anyone off yet, I wonder why BB called him to the DR in the early hours of the morning, when everyone was walking away from him. I hope they show it. They are just a selfish lot.

I couldn't agree more. What a poor role model he is for our country. I felt like putting my fist through the tv each time he said those things. He makes me cringe the patronising little twerp. Can't understand how Gary just takes it all in his stride or maybe he doesn't always hear what's being said to him. Gary to win.

Not to mention it's completely hypocritical that he's called rude when the conversation he's joining in with is about himself.

I know right.

How dare Gary rudely barge into a conversation where people are talking about him behind his back?!

(I must admit, we haven't seen this yet, so maybe they weren't talking about him and Gary misheard. James didn't seem to strongly object to Gary claiming he had heard his name mentioned though..)
