The makers of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, are set to release an episode that pokes fun at the death of Steve Irwin.

In the episode Irwin is at a celebrity party hosted by Satan, sporting a stingray hanging out of his chest.

The Australian wildlife expert died last month after being struck through the heart by a stingray's barb, whilst filming off the coast of Queensland.

According to Entertainmentwise John Beyer of the Mary Whitehouse-founded Mediawatch said: "This is such bad taste and the makers of South Park should review their decision to show it. Steve's family are still grieving.

"To lampoon someone's death like that is unacceptable and so soon after the event is grossly insensitive."

Despite the criticism Matt Stone and Trey Parker defended the episode: "We have offended people in the past and probably will again. We know that regular watchers will not be shocked."

That's really mean but I can't help but laugh at South Park. It's so tasteless all the time, this isn't really anything out of the norm for them. There was the episode where they're insulting people with ginger hair!

They've done it about many people. Just because Steve's death was documented more than others, there is more controversy over it.

 Gooo south park!

I think if another show had done it, it'd be really wrong but South Park is a controversial show, it'd be samey if it was just a cartoon.

I hate South Park personally, but this is what they do, right?

Am I the only one that will probably find this amusing? :conf:

I know it might affect his family and stuff, but they have a simple choice not to watch it.

It was only two secs of the show and it wasn’t really obvious and it was still an ok eppy

Satan was having a party for Halloween

His aid says Satan: Someone is dressed up as Steve Irwin and its offending people

Devil: excuse me ermmm it’s a nice costume but it’s a bit soon don’t you think

Irwin: ohhhh no it me devil Steve Irwin

Devil: ohh ermm you don’t have a costume so you gotta leave!!

That’s it!!

I didn’t think it was funny but I didn’t find it to offensive

And South Park always has stuff f like this it what they do!!
