I am happy to answer your question JoshBB.
I was Conservative, I had big worries for the NHS and as to Student tuition fees in 2010, so voted Liberal Democrat in the 2010 election.
I now support and will be voting Labour in 2015,I like the more compassionate and fairer attitude in their policies.
I cannot see me returning to my Conservative roots again now.
There is nothing more ****ing boring than someone who dismisses a fringe party with a hand wave. Know your politics, know their policies, know why you hate them and articulate it to the person you are engaged with. It's got to be up there with the sort of turds who respond to serious homosexual or animal welfare related threads just to say "just kill all the homophobes lol".
To answer your question I do not support any of the mainstream Irish political parties but I would lean on the side of socialism [in my dads words I want to share what I don't have with everybody].

I was always told it was rude to ask other people. I would never disclose my political leanings and wouldn't ask anyone's theirs either.

This must be one of the really 'very few' things you and I don't agree on Kazanne. :joker:
I just hoped for so much from this coalition as you know from when I first joined here but I have consistently been disappointed with what they have done and what I have witnessed as to the effects of their policies on others.
I don't however blame the Conservatives, they are doing most of what they would have done had they got an overall majority.
The Lib Dems now, well that's another story, they can now disappear for good for me.:joker:

They haven't got everything right Joey,I believe there is lots to do,but it seems it is going in the right direction,ie the economy etc, slowly but surely I think it will get there.i agree with some of the things people are pissed about like bedroom tax etc,but I think like the council tax that will even out eventually,no one likes things taken from them, but sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind,my main reason for my change was the absolute mess Labour left us in,and I think they will do it again, they will get back in,pander to everyones needs and hey presto we are back to square one.I am no expert, but, I trust the Conservatives more if not fully:wavey:

Same. I was also brought up not to discuss money or religion either, although I must admit I often slip up on politics and religion, depending on how much I've had to drink :hehe:
I NEVER discuss money.

This getting messy :worry:
I don't support any, but I normally vote far-right, not because I support the far right but because I know they have no chance of ever getting in, and most of the Country will side to the left, so I vote far-right for balance.

I don't think it rude to talk about politics, I do it all the time, politics is life after all, what happens in politics and is done by politicians affects the lives of everyone.
No one is compelled to talk about politics or reveal where they may be giving their votes but I see no harm in asking who we support.
If we want to answer we will, if we don't we just ignore the thread and question.
I actually think it sad that politics is not discussed more by people really,I do so with my friends and family and support among them is for just about every party going.
We have good chats as to it all though and as to what we would like to see happen from Govts and what we would like politicians to do.
I am however,I admit, a political animal however, having a massive interest in same so I look at it all from my perspective.
I welcome all opportunities to discuss politics and also I am not bothered who knows how I vote too, I am happy to say because who I decide to vote for is one the big decisions I make in life.
Having said that,I would never push people to discuss politics if they didn't wish to, or suggest they should say who they vote for if they have no wish to say so.
That is their right.
That surely doesn't mean no one else should talk or ask about political matters anyway.
There is a general election in 9 months time.a major event in the running of the UK.
Some forums even have a section totally about politics.

Scotland is very left which is what I like about it and it's a good thing if Scotland gets independence for that very reason because it'll become a great country however I'm voting no for the very fact that I plan on living in England when I have an established career (selfish reason but you need to be selfish in elections otherwise what's the point?)

It's considered rude by some people yeah but I've never really understood that. I mean don't get me wrong I wouldn't go out of my way to ask people I'd just met their political views, that could get very messy - but I am more than happy to discuss politics with anyone that initiates a conversation about them, in fact I enjoy and encourage it. I totally understand why some people don't wish to discuss it and that's fine, but I think the idea that all conversations and questions about it should be banned because it's 'rude' is absurd. More people need to talk about politics, it's important.
Anyway, I don't really feel like there's any party that sufficiently represents a large majority of my (in all honesty quite radical and left-field) views, perhaps the Greens are the closest. I expect I'll be voting Labour next year though.

I agree. The purpose of voting is so that the majority of the country are happy.
I support the lil Kim Socialist Party
