Obviously £50m Torres is the one that springs to mind but who else would you say fell drastically short of expectations?

I'll always see Sheva as the biggest flop just because he was the undisputed best striker in the world when he moved to Chelsea and he was useless from start to finish, with Torres he still had his moments and won everything their was to win at Chelsea

Afonso Alves (not as much money but 12m to someone like Boro is surely the same as 50m to Chelsea)

both of those were just terrible, at least Chelsea have got service out of Torres, and he's scored some very important goals

Andy Carroll to Liverpool. I think it cost Dalglish his job along with other signings at Liverpool where he spent money on players who did not fit in with what the fans wanted.
