Why did people stop going on msn?

but msn was still popular in 2008 when i signed up to facebook

MSN Messenger provided me with some amazing laughs and memories, many of them with people on here, and for that I will always be grateful. I was under the impression it had shut down a long time ago. Goodnight, sweet prince.

Nah seriously though, you couldn't even log into msn/windows messenger the last time I tried it converted mines to Skype.
