A representative for Channel 5 has confirmed that the former Emmerdale actress has exited the house in order to receive medical treatment.

"Due to ill health Claire has had to leave the Big Brother house to receive medical attention," the show's representative said in a press statement.

It is not yet known if King will eventually return to the house or if her health crisis will necessitate a full departure from Celebrity Big Brother.

Her exit comes amid the announcement that Gary Busey, Frenchy, Stephanie Pratt, Kellie Maloney, Ricci Guarnaccio and Lauren Goodger will face the next public vote.
