Steps star Claire Richards has responded to a jibe from Simon Cowell on tonight's (August 30) edition of The X Factor.
Cowell mocked Steps during the ITV show's audition phase, while declaring his desire to put together a new pop group.

After Cowell said he'd like to find another Steps but with more talented members, Richards tweeted.: "I'd like to find another Steps but with better people in it!!" What Simon!!!!! Maybe you should have signed us when you had the chance???!"
Former Girl Thing member Linzi Martin auditioned in tonight's show in what became a highly-emotional segment. The band were managed by Cowell back in the 1990s.
