I can't say I LIKE him, but I don't hate him either. I've always said I think he's a twat with a heart, but it's hard to see it beneath his layers of pomposity and arrogance. I still think it's in there somewhere though.
Vanessa Feltz on BOTS tonight is keen on him. He was her dancing partner on the last Strictly series and she said he is a brilliant teacher and very talented - that he is great fun and has a good heart - and she got on with him brilliantly.
She also said something I like very much: that he absolutely adores Ola and if he thought she wasn't getting the respect she deserved he was in there with all guns blazing. I'm like that with my darling wife so we have that in common! ::)
I'm a bit away from actually liking him, but he's an interesting HM and I think there is a lot more to him than meets the eye.

Telling Gary not to be rude (for answering when he heard people say his name) while shouting at him in a really rude manner, using insults like comparing him to a child/dog.
The joking thing; it's alright when he makes a joke but offensive and rude when others do.
Lecturing Gary about hygiene and how he should help others in the house (others also brought this up in noms), and then sniggering at Gary when he is cleaning the kitchen.
