James completely misinterprets everything Gary says here and puts words into his mouth. :nono:
And who voted the British the top of comedy for the world? I don't recall reading that prestigious acclaim in the news. Did the rest of the world give us a 'wafta'? He makes cringe, he is not doing us as British people any favours. What an ignorant twat.
Did you miss James wink to show that he was winding Gary up?

Probably 'accidentally' overlooked that bit
I doubt a wink is to prove he was winding Gary up. Jame's excuse for most stuff in there just to hoodwink the public, is 'Oh, I was only winding you up'. Yeah right. He is playing the game and knows it forwards and backwards, however he is doing so with a nasty streak. Playing the game, fine I get that, but leave that vile nasty streak at the door next time, James.

Spiteful bullies can't wink at their mates when they are deliberately patronising and winding up their victim? Oh ok then, I guess you must be right.

He gets a whole lot of satisfaction winding people up...trouble is he can't take it himself. Audley is the only one to give him a taste of his own medicine and the only way he deals with it is by making personal references meant to hurt.
He can dish it out but can't take it....

I stated that the wink was about James winding Gary up - I'm not defending James or saying anyone is wrong to hate him.
I was responding to the original post about who voted the British etc. etc.
and that comment that he was "misinterpreting" Gary, by saying it was a wind up. That doesn't make James not evil for winding Gary up if that's how you feel about it.

James is horrible. Gary never said he didn't like Brits. Winding Gary up this way is mean, and no amount of winking will change that. I laughed when Gary said, "Congratulations." James is the Brad Pitt of twats.

True.True.True. James likes Gary and is joking when he is berating him, in the same manner that Cassius and Brutus loved Caesar and were only scratching his back with their knives.
He is definitely playing the game.

I saw the wink but then afterwards he says do you know what he is saying he doesnt like the Brits....there wasnt any wink then that was deliberate, he then left before he could explain to Gary.

Does that mean you accept that James wasn't literally claiming that the Brits were "voted the British the top of comedy for the world..etc" as posited in the opening post, but that he was being a wind up merchant?

It was a stupid thing to say, it was clearly a dig at Gary's nationality to try to get a rise out of him, and my wafta remark was lighthearted and humour, hence making up 'wafta'. Though maybe I should have said wofta peefta or poofta since everyone on here seems to be completely obsessed with smells, poo and pee. I have never seen so many remarks and conversation about bodily functions in my life as here this week.
