[Police hunting for missing schoolgirl Alice Gross, 14,
have arrested a man on suspicion of murder,
Scotland Yard say.
The 25-year-old suspect was arrested
in the Ealing area at around 5pm on
Saturday and is currently in custody
at a west London police station.
His arrest follows information detectives received.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said:
"All lines of enquiry are still open at this time
and this remains a missing person investigation at this stage." ]

Poor girl, my own daughter is 14 :(
That's awful, I assumed she was just another fallen-in-the-river case, of which there seem to have been quite a lot this year... this is really sad, I hope they somehow find her alive but it doesn't seem very likely now.

This is the problem with Europe
he should never had a passport
as once he travels - no one knows his former crimes

Why are murderers allowed to travel unhindered?
My heart breaks for this poor child and her family.
Sad, I kinda had hope they would find her alive :(
That poor little girl :( I wonder if 1) they'll be able to prove he murdered her/find out who did and 2) if it was him, how they're going to find him...?!

If it is him, then i think this proves his guilt, but sadly for Alice's family they will never get justice.

Him being dead is the best kind of justice, especially as he in all likelihood took his own life so had a horrible experience before dying. It's better justice than sitting in prison being waited on hand and foot costing taxpayers money. If somebody killed someone I cared about and ended up in prison, it would eat me alive knowing they were alive and well being cared for with my own money.
Random acts of murder should lead to the perpetrator losing their own life, one way or another.

totally agree
The thing that puzzles me about this is if he murdered her, it surely wasn't premeditated in the way that other child murderers operate? Like, he wasn't laying in wait for her to walk past, he was out for a bike ride, saw her, murdered her, hid her body, went home for a few days then went and killed himself? I can only assume he was in a violent mood when he was on his bike, he saw that painfully frail looking little girl and took his rage out on her in the heat of the moment and then regretted what he'd done to the point of killing himself?
