Simon Cowell is considering major twists to keep The X Factor format fresh next year.
Despite investing an extra £1 million into the show this series, Cowell believes more fundamental changes will be required next time around.

Such a move could see the introduction of new categories - and, by dint, new judges.

"We might add a few more categories," revealed Cowell, who is also an exec producer on the show. "You've got to change things about."

I can't see what other categories they could add inless they changed it to 'pop' 'rock' and 'RnB' for example. But the whole fun of X Factor is seeing all the acts singing all kinds of different genres of music.

They could allow younger people on but imo that wouldn't work, some of 16 years are not even ready for the live shows like Shaun.
