View Full Version : Why do people use offline mode?

This is something that I never quite understood. If you're on the forum, isn't it nice for others to see you're online as well so that they can shoot you a message or something? Not to mention, if you haven't posted in a while if you don't use offline mode, others can see and can reach out to see how you're doing and stuff. I just never understood the appeal of the offline mode. What do others think?

Oh that's an interesting angle, I never thought of it like that! Surely one's post-count would give that away though :laugh:

I use it sometimes when I'm running games just to make the tasks more difficult and unpredictable, but otherwise cba with it.

I think this is the reason Sometimes you just want to browse quietly and if you're a popular member there might be a lot of people wanting to get hold of you when you're on.

That makes sense to me! Or if you're playing in a game and you want to hide your activity or something.

i think it up to member if there use it or not dont see any harm in it

I only use it when hosting games so you can't track what I am doing for the game.

How do you even switch on the offline?

Settings and options on your user CP. the top option should be invisible mode. Click the box if you want to be shady.
