There’s set to be wild card twist on The X Factor 2014 this year, but this one is quite different.

Wild cards are not new to The X Factor (remember, that’s how we ended up with Christopher Maloney) but this years one is rather different.

In total there will be FOUR wild card acts, one in each category, chosen from the three acts who weren’t originally chosen for the live shows.

However, the judges will be picking the wild card acts for each other’s categories.

Cheryl, who has the Girls, will be picking the wild card for Mel B’s Boys, and vice versa.

And then Louis, who is mentoring the Groups, will chose an Over 25 act as Simon Cowell’s wild card before the roles are then also reversed.

The Sun newspaper (paid link) report: “This could see them pick a weaker singer who will get knocked out early – or shame their fellow judge by bringing someone back who was overlooked.”

It ultimately all means that this year’s series will end up with some SIXTEEN acts in the live shows when the finals kick off in October.

But for now it’s time for bootcamp, which kicks off on Friday on ITV.

Over the weekend we’ll see the four judges each work on their categories, picking the final six acts to take to judges houses.

This could either be great or a disaster

This so means that "Louis" will pick Stevi Ritchie though just to piss Simon off

So simon will bully Louis into picking whoever Simon wants.

But we'll likely get a good group put through by Simon

Oh dear, I'm sure this will be funny (for two seconds), although surely unfair to the judges who have the best categories. Cheryl will almost certainly be perfectly safe with this, given the strong line up of girls. Louis is screwed with his crap line up of the groups. Simon is probably screwed too.

Can see Louis picking a rubbish one for Simon.
Depending who simon picks in the overs this could be bad or not. Mel and Cheryl will be ok with the strong boys and girls

I'll guess that these will be the 4 wild cards though from those who make judges houses and who I think will get initially cut.

Overs - they'll definitely play up on the Louis loving novelty acts angle and he will take Stevi through to wind Simon up and it will give them strong VTS for a couple of weeks.

Girls - Chloe Jasmine will definitely make it, so whoever gets the biggest uproar over being sent home will be chosen here, I'll say Lola would cause the most upset ness so her.

Boys - Jack Walton, out of the 3 who definitely are being sent home he is the only one who has got strong enough airtime for him to be a viable option.

Groups - I can see the 8 piece boyband being an absolute car crash so I think they will want another option to push as the boyband of the series song can only see Concept making it.

They want another Joke act since we didn't have one last year, but isn't there going to be a lot of people in the lives this year?

The same amount in series 7 & 8, although series 7 had a lot of double eliminations and series 8 had the twist where every judge had to pick an act to go in the first week.

I think lives are set earlier this year, hence why everything has felt rushed.

...hmm, just seen that the date the lives start seems to be the same as any other year. Maybe there'll be a few double eliminations.

Louis will pick a joke act for Simon and Simon will pick a joke act for Louis. Or a girl band. Something Louis won't know what to do with. Cheryl will pick someone she feels deserves a second chance with a sad look on her face and Mel B will have a hard nosed glare on her face as she picks the most deserving girl for Cheryl. It's all so predictable.

Urge Hated the Double eliminations couldn't they just let it go on till the week before Xmas or is that what they do already

Bit disappointed with this. Wasn't the original idea that there was going to be a new judge for the live shows and they get to pict one act from each category who didn't get through to mentor. That would have been a lot more interesting and avoids deadlocks aswell. They could have even had a different celebrity mentoring each week, which could have meant quote big celebrities as they would have only had to commit to a week. Or actually have us as the fifth judge, we get to pick who we want through and choose songs for them each week out of a choice of three. It would have been good for the app and brought in a bit of profit but no thy have no imagination and do a crappy twist like this

Wish they could choose from 'bootcamp' (can you even call it that, next year they should just call it The Six Chair Challenge), justice for Ten:love:

According to The Sun, Mel B will get to bring back one of Louis Walsh’s groups, Cheryl will pick one of Mel’s axed Boys, Louis will chose one of Simon Cowell’s Over 25s, while he will get to bring back one of Cheryl’s Girls.

The twist will also mean that there will be a bumper 16 finalists this year, instead of the usual 12.

Simon apparently came up with the scheme after Paul Akister’s auditions, which saw the music mogul slam Louis Walsh for sending him home during the Judges Houses round last year.

The first of this year’s X Factor wild cards has apparently been revealed.

This year’s show is set to feature FOUR wild card act, one in each category.

It had been reported that each judge would pick an act for another category, with Cheryl picking the wild card for Mel B’s Boys, while Mel selects a group for Louis Walsh to mentor.

Then Louis will choose an Over 25 act as Simon Cowell’s wild card before the X Factor boss picks an act for Cheryl to complete the circle.

Although Irish website Goss.ie say that Louis Walsh’s wild card is supposedly Girls category singer Orla Keogh.

Orla didn’t even make judges’ houses, having been ditched (controversially so) at bootcamp in a last minute choice by Cheryl which saw Chloe Jasmine put through in her place.

Speaking earlier this week, Louis Walsh said: “Orla should made the live shows.

“I think she could be a great recording artist and has an amazing confidence and look.”

Other acts rumoured for the four wild card spots include boy band Overload and Over 28 singer Janet Grogan.

Simon Cowell sent home Janet at the weekend but tweeted after the show had aired: “I should have kept Janet. My mistake.”

To make the girls category more exciting I do hope it's from Bootcamp as Monica and Kayleigh deserve a shot at the lives more than the shouters that beat them to Judges Houses.
