Another great episode. I feel like the two people might be Wes and Maggie now, which I would not be disappointed about at ALL.

Laurel and Frank I think now Bonnie's been ruled out :worry:

It won't be any of the main cast that are dead I don't think, Nate will be the one that's dead and then possibly Frank the one that's still alive

They would need like three stretchers if he was the dead one :joker:

I love Laurel.

Her friendship is the only thing even slightly interesting about Wes to me. :fan:

Ugh, I think everyone called Nate being the dead guy from episode 1.

Also I hate that Laurel and Wes are getting it on, they had a good friendship to develop and they went down the predictable route.

Smithy's right, she's going to be having his baby.

I wish there was more of the flashforwards or something. :/ it seemed like it was missing something

BigSister
29-10-2016, 09:51 PM
Last weeks was a bit meh but enjoyed this weeks. Im enjoying Asher and Michaelas relationship more than I thought I would
Im leaning more to Connor being the person dead as Asher said in the flashforward that he Laurel and Connor were called to the house and we know that hes ok and Laurel is out but in theatre plus its a male. The only thing that confuses me is Analise reaction in the first episode unless something happens to change my mind

Marsh.
29-10-2016, 09:59 PM
Asher still irritates me. I've wanted him dead from the pilot.

These last two episodes have been kinda dull IMO in comparison to the strong start of the season (and series in general)

Cal.
11-11-2016, 01:58 PM
The death being between Frank and Nate. Lol bye Nate

Annelise screaming at Frank to shoot himself whilst Bonnie quietly asks him not to was such a good scene

Cal.
11-11-2016, 02:01 PM
Come to think of it all along the death would have only been between Bonnie, Frank, Wes and Nate. Annelise wouldn't really care about the others enough to have that reaction. I'm not saying she wouldn't be upset but her reaction was clearly to someone she cared for very much.

Shook. That's how you run a show.

BigSister
18-11-2016, 03:04 PM
I thought it was Wes at the start of the season but when they used the scene in the interrogation room I thought oh hes fine and thought it was Frank or Nate going into the episode. Really strong episode though and now starts a new storyline at who killed Wes

Omg @ this ep

YAAAAAASSSSSS @ Wes being the dead one, I thought it was really clever how they tricked us into thinking it was Nate right til the very end. Wes was easily the most annoying character of the series.

I'm sure Wes will still pop up in loads of flashbacks tho

People think he's not really dead. They think Frank or Nate helped him somehow. They talk about how he cut a deal with the DA and they they didn't show what happened after that. He fired his Lawyer etc. Hm

Only just realised this returns tonight.

I got caught up with the current season a few days ago. I love that they went with a big death with Wes. I spoiled it for myself a while ago so obviously it wasn't a shock when watching it but I was massively surprised when I first heard, always had him and Annalise pegged as safe for the entire show

Here for Meggy being the killer and going all Fatal Attraction on Wes and Laurel.

I fell behind on the last few episodes but I read about the resolution to the Wes mystery and it sounds really anticlimactic. I'd been losing motivation to keep up with the show anyway, might still catch up before season 4 but not sure if I'll be bothered enough in the end.

Cal.

I kind of sensed that

it'd be someone we hadn't been introduced to before his death.

Lostie!

I kind of sensed that

Thing is, I HATE that in murder mysteries  And with Lila and Rebecca's deaths, both times it was someone we knew from the start so I gave them credit that they wouldn't suddenly pull a "oh it was this guy you met one episode ago" on us (even if on the orders of someone we knew). I think what makes it worse is that Wes was such a pivotal character death and having the resolution be so shoddy feels extra underwhelming.

To be honest I most likely will catch up closer to season 4 starting because season 1 was still brilliant (2 was really good too) and Annalise and Bonnie are two of my favourite characters on TV at the moment. But if it introduces another big mystery and then burns me with another cop out like this next season, I'll be out. :ninja2:

I hate it as well. It feels like such a waste of time since you could have just started watching the story line on the episode of the reveal and not have missed anything. I remember Doctors did a stalking story line a few years ago over the summer and I was really invested in that - and then they actually only introduced the stalker in the climax episode of the story line so I could have just tuned in to that one episode and not have missed anything.

I like it when murder mysteries set up a list of suspects and establish the characters/their motives and then slowly eliminate them until the reveal. It feels shoddy as you say when they just set up a mystery with no particular suspects and then reveal it to be some random non-established character with a motive that you wouldn't have guessed until they actually show you the flashback. They got Lila and Rebecca's mysteries completely right - they've gotten the fire and Wes mysteries completely wrong from what I've seen.

Cal.
10-03-2017, 02:13 PM
Shows should either do a mystery where they introduce to us a group of suspects, establish them and slowly eliminate them until there's one remaining and is revealed to be the killer (ala Broadchurch except it didn't eliminate anyone until the reveal) or show us exactly what's going on with no mystery element (ala Happy Valley). Trying to mix the two or throwing out a random reveal from no where is crap.

Season 4 discussion in the spoiler
Laurel continues to ****** everything up! I think she should of just stayed in hospital. I’m glad that Annalise didn’t 100% trust Laurel’s mum (for good reason!)

OMG AT THE END !!!!

Both of Laurel’s parents must be working together right? ANDDDD there was another slip that Wes might be alive. I think at this point they would be lowkey trolling us if Wes is dead. Also Frank need to come through and kill one of the parents, preferably the dad? I also think someone is going to die in the next episode, my guess is Oliver or one of the parents.

Also let’s not forget the guy who was shot, what if he wakes up and remembers everything!! Fndkdkdkkdfng I can’t cope with this show!

I love the show, but it needs to start wrapping up soon. Unless they can inject a bit more life into it, it all seems rather exhausted.

I think the dragging out of the Wes plot wasn't needed.

The twists and turns I expected some omg moment or major explanation around his death for the mystery around it to continue for a season and a half after he died.

You probably expected it to be full of explosions which is understandable but at the same time you need to look at how dark this season has been so it was nice to see a somewhat happy ending.

The show has plenty life left in it. This has been my favourite since season one and I’m pretty sure season 5 will be great

Marsh.
30-03-2018, 01:05 AM
You probably expected it to be full of explosions

You cheeky little bitch. :nono:

HTGAWM doesn't have explosions. :hmph:

The finales normally adequately provide closure to the season's arc, whilst setting up the next season and I don't feel this one did in anyway. :oh:

I felt a lot was wasted meandering with the Wes stuff, which could've played as a B-plot with Caplan & Gold continuing as an A-plot in the second half. We all need Tegan Price in our lives.

I mean, I did like that they moved forward from the darkness of this season (god, everyone was practically killing themselves) to a calmer place to prepare for whatever drama next season. But if you're gonna waste so much goddamn time on Wes, at least pay it off. :fist: But that's what I meant by exhausted. The characters seem completely beaten down from everything that's happened and there's not much they haven't all gone through or been involved in. Here's hoping the writers can keep it fresh next year and reinvent again.

Also, I must be the only person who was pleased that Michaela cheated. I can't stand Asher and she can do better. :hehe:

Note for season 5: Let Wes Go!!!

Gstar
30-03-2018, 07:06 AM
Omg no! Michaela cheating was my least favourite moment of the season! I do agree with the whole Wes stuff in terms of having so much focus that it lead to speculation of him being alive. Idc what anyone says, they hinted several times he was alive!

That murder scene was ****ing perfectly done, really. Oliver singing through most of it was just right too. Best one so far I think when it all pulled together..this show seems to be one of those rare ones that doesnt get crapper as it goes on. I'm assuming...

Alfred Enoch is playing Wes in a dream sequence or a far in the future grown up Christopher who looks like his dad? I just cannot accept, even on this show, that the dead and badly burned and cut up body of Wes was faked. :joker:

As for the Asher twist...

He deserved it. Never liked him, he had the audacity to blame Annalise for everything despite her being one of the few characters who hasn't actually committed murder. And I reckon Oliver is responsible for his death. They had him go to Bonnie's house for a reason. So, he will collapse from his head injury at her house and Bonnie and Frank will move his body to his apartment building either so his death isn't linked to them or to frame Gabriel (bashing his head in a few times at the apartment to make it look like the site of his death).

As for Annalise...

Wasn't her faking her death signposted way too early in the season? I actually think she could die for real now.

If not she will get together with Tegan and Tegan will die before they get their happy ending.

I both love and hate this show. But I will miss it. It's always been bat sh*t crazy and was always highly entertaining.

Finally done my mid-season binge as I do every season (I legit can't wait for the cliffhangers I have to watch this show in one-go )

Agree with all of this!

SO happy to see the back of Asher, he's always been my least favourite character behind Wes, so I was pleased to see his demise. But then they had to ruin it and ****ing flashforward to Wes being alive!! wtf???? There's legit no way he can be alive after his burned dead body, so if the writers pass it off as he faked his own death or whatever I'll actually be really disappointed as it just screams fan pandering.

The Laurel thing is gonna need some serious trying up as well. Because right now it feels like her disappearance was just written to give the actress maternity leave or something :skull:

Also I really didn't understand the point of them doing mushrooms the night before graduation, like honestly what was the point :joker:

That being said I'll really miss this show when it finishes! One of the first dramas I really properly got into and every season never fails to amaze me. Really curious to see how it all ends, there's so many possibilities.

Marsh.

Dhook at Frank being Sam and Hannah's incest child.

So Analise dies next episode and we still dont know why or how or had any hints?

Also why bring Wes and Laurel back for 5 second cameos especially Wes we need to know how he survived.

I want to know who the secret informant is

Marsh.
04-05-2020, 02:01 AM
The very fact they've ignored the Wes reveal for 4 episodes now tells me I was probably right. Alfred Enoch is playing Wes and Laurel's son attending Annalise's funeral 20+ years into the future, which will serve as the epilogue for the show.

This show never fails to make my jaw drop. :joker: I remembered Annalise's "incest" crack to Hannah in season 1 and was frustrated by why on earth they were spending one of the last episodes of the show going back and adding it into the canon for Hannah and Sam. Then BAM! they threw that curveball in. I was honestly expecting it to be Bonnie. That girl is messed up enough as it is.

I'm still wondering "why now?" at them revealing what they did when there's still so much to wrap up with the ongoing story, I'd have probably liked them to have revealed this earlier on in this season and explore it more. Rather than some of the sh*t like Asher's killer (:umm2:) which seems like a convenient plot development to get everybody off with the FBI by having them exposed as corrupt.

I officially have no idea where on earth they're taking this going forward. :joker:

Marsh.
04-05-2020, 02:04 AM
They love adding to Sam's complicated backstory every season.

So, now... Sam has an incest Son 1 with his sister, abandons Son 2 nobody even knows exists, Son 1 causes an accident that inadvertently kills his unborn Son 3 and when strangling Lila kills another unborn Son 4. :laugh2:

Any other show and I would be switching off with these absurd plot lines but HTGAWM knows just how to make it work.

The lack of any actual focus on characters like her, Connor and Oliver is making characters like her 2D villains in favour of spending the majority of one of the last episodes in flashbacks between Sam and Gabriel's mother. Instead of focusing in on our main cast whose 6 season arcs are supposed to be coming to a close.

There's no way all of the stories can be wrapped up satisfactorily in the last episode. I can only hope there's enough room to at least do Annalise justice, if not all of the regulars.

I-

Denver
15-05-2020, 10:17 AM
when the series first started I didnt think Annalise would die then I became convinced she would but
I'm glad they let her get justice and live with it.

Frank and Bonnie was such a sad ending but nice the true loves died with each other but i think it was a shame to kill them especially Bonnie incase they ever did make a comeback (although unlikely) or a spin off.

I'm glad the governor and laurels dad died both deserved it but it's a shame Analises mum died although she was an old lady so that was a given when you forward to the future.

Oliver is a nightmare and I'm glad Connor finally did what's right but they should have locked Up Micheala also the whole tease of Wes not being dead just for him to play his own son is kinda hilarious.

I Know Eve was who Annalise loved but I was hoping Teegan got a chance to speak and tell us they had a happy life together.

A possible reboot/spin off in the future was also on my mind during the death scene too, but then given how they framed the conclusion with flash-forwards, I don't think any kind of reboot in the future would work.

I really liked the final scene, thought it was a good book end. When he was riding the bike, I thought cool he's studying law too but for him to be the teacher was nice. I also didn't understand Laurel's "You should say something" to him until that final scene when he said she was his mentor. That was a nice touch. Given how most of the cast had seemingly lost touch after Annalise's trial, it was nice to know Annalise got to play a role in his life afterwards.

They were like 8 years old or something meanwhile she looked like she was supposed to be in her late 60s :skull:

Yeah, I googled that way back in season 4 when she kept saying it thinking I'd misheard it all along. Always found it funny how she was the only one to use the correct pronunciation, even out of characters whose name is actually Castillo.
