His resignation comes ahead of a story due to be published in tomorrow's Sunday Mirror concerning his private life.

Sky's Political Correspondent Anushka Asthana says the details of the story have not been made public, but it is believed to involve social media.

He would probably have been hounded by some of the media during the election as to everything anyway.
He knows the price he has had to pay for some stupidity,at least he has decided to go and go quickly and therefore spare his Party more hassle and embarrassment.

I give him credit for that.
