Love dogs!
I have 2, they have such different characters, 1 is really naughty, she looks like Basil Brush but she is soooo loving.
The other is a complete nutter, he looks like Snowy (tintins dog) but he's a mummy's boy and likes to snuggle, and he runs so fast that he often trips over his legs:grin2:
I wouldn't be without them, they are sunshine on the most atrocious days:love:

I've never had a Dog as a pet (I hope to eventually though) so I voted for Cats.

dogs
i mean, please
Have a lot of time for cats mentality; sleep loads, come and go as they please, happy dossing around on their own most the day
Much better than slobbering, dependent dogs always desperate for attention
Cats, not just because their cute but because dogs scare the **** out of me
Daniel.

I'm not a pet person, but out of those options, I would have a dog. They are thick, obedient, and make you feel good about yourself.
Cats sneer down their cute little noses at you, and know they are superior.

I love both and have had both as pets over the years, but now have 3 Shih Tzus - well my wife has, but I am allowed to do the cleaning up etc.
Cats for me hands down.
Less fuss and maintenance.

Dogs...
...
'Come on, boy!'
You can't say that to a cat. ;)

You certainly can, but inside the cat is saying to you 'no....you come on,boy!'
This quote by Christopher Hitchens says everything to me of why I prefer cats (and I have had a dog in the past)
"Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are god. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are gods.”
One of my favourite quotes of all time and that's why love cats. So superior, so elegant and beholden to nobody. Masters of themselves.
Samuel.

Awww Liam, your cat isn't catching stuff to save you because you're a bit of a wimp when it comes to tiny bugs... he's catching stuff because cats are ruthless and vicious killers who slaughter indiscriminately because they enjoy it! The little buggers...

So there's this moth... that looks like a butterfly... and was the size of a butterfly... and had all the aggressive qualities of a butterfly. You must have been terrified! Have you been checked out for PTSD?

Yeah they are. Otherwise they seem serious. Fear is like a superpower. Doctor Who said that so it must be true.
