What chat thread do you prefer?

I was just remembering when we used to have those chat threads that were themed (The Igloo, Snug, Castle, Bedsit, etc.) and how loads of us used to race to like create another one after the old ones wer closed :laugh: I guess it just fizzled out and made into the lounge after last year but I kind of miss them! :amazed: I like the Lounge, don't get me wrong! But would you like to see the themed chat threads return, or has your heart settled on the lounge? :)

I didn't see any advertising for the Igloo/Asylum/Zoo/other various names... they're exactly the same thing and there's not really much argument in it. It's just one has an admin frequenting it :spin2:

Anyway I think it was locked because of the feud that was going on between Kizzy/Glenn/Kate/Jesus etc. not the actual people that used it the most (well, Glenn and Kate did, I suppose, but me? I prefer The Lounge, it's better to just have the one big chat thread, having the two separate ones was fun but it did cause deep divides and I think is one of the (many :laugh:) factors in causing such tensions on the forum a while ago.

There was loads of trouble to do with the other thread in recent times because of the cliquiness of it, there was people arguing in there the whole time. I don't want to give specific examples cos it'll only be stirring up old crap but iirc the Lounge took over from the themed thread before Josy become admin and was only a lowly mod and there was also a mod frequenting the other thread at the time

I think the reason was cliquey atmosphere but people are generally going to talk more with others that have similar interests etc.

...I like the Lounge just as it is, it just kind of feels like..'if it ain't broken, don't fix it..'..and I think keeping the name as it is, just kind of stops any potential problems which there have been in the past over who does the next thread etc and ..oh, how come they're doing it/I want to...I know that the other chat thread is named but I don't think that I have ever seen that same thing there, where anyone is bickering over it so I think that's why it's probably carried on like that...anyway, not really bothered, I can't see a name changing who posts in the chat threads, so....

Themed chat threats weren't even banned so I'm not sure how that is being brought up.

The other chat thread was filled with constant arguing because of an ongoing feud between members and when it was closed one of the times for cleaning the lounge ended up being bumped and so because of the two chat thread rule it just stayed that way.

No, you were told this before Tom a lot of members want the lounge to be kept as it is, if it's such a big thing for you to post in a named thread then use the other one, it gets renamed every now and then ....
