Would you go to the cinema alone to see a film, or would you be too embarrassed?
Or have you went to the cinema alone?

Yeah, I haven't ever actually done it because there's always someone around but it wouldn't bother me to do it, in fact I'd quite enjoy the peace sometime

It's stupid that I think this, but no. I'd worry that I appear as a loner.

I never have but I would I think. I'd wait till the film was just about to start though so the lights had already one down.....

I don't ever go to the cinema (not my thing and pointless when you can watch online for free) but I would if there was a movie I was really passionate about seeing.
No, don't think I have ever been on my own

yes. why does it matter? you're watching a movie, even if you do go with someone, you're just sitting next to each other, you're not even talking (at least you shouldn't be). Watching a movie is not a social activity. that's why they say you should never go to a movie on a first date.
..yeah, I have been on my own a few times, it's the thing with being the only female in a family, the guys don't always want to watch the same things as me...I'm not sure that I would want to go to a cinema complex like Cineworld on my own, I find it soulless anyway but we have like an old fashioned theatre in my local town, with sofas etc and you can have a meal while you're there...it's very small and only fits around hmmm twenty or thirty people so it's just like being at home really....

I often go to the cinema alone, I love it. No one talking through the film and I can get up and leave if I want to. I go to the theatre alone too. And if people think I'm a loner, well, I have no interest in what they think.

You could solve this by just sitting next to a stranger. that one stranger would know the truth, but the rest of the theater would think you have friends.

I have never but i would.

....I think that you would probably actually really love it, Marsh... it's a great way to watch a movie and you can take a bottle of wine with you as well..the only thing with it is, that it only has a few screens so you don't get the same choice as with other cinemas and the releases are often a few weeks later than the bigger cinemas..

I'd prefer not to but I keep meaning to go see The Inbetweeners 2 before they stop showing it and no one seems to be bothered/has already seen it so I will probably end up going alone at some point. Would rather bite the bullet and do it than miss out on something I want to see. I'm like that with a lot of things though, if I really want to do something and no one else does I'll just go myself, like seeing acts at festivals for example
Funnily enough the only time I have gone alone was for the first Inbetweeners Movie, my friends were late but I'd already bought a ticket so had to go in

I have one night when I was really upset after a family feud. I thought **** and went in alone and watched that game that was turned into a movie. The shooter with bald head and black suit and red tie. I forgot what it's called.

..the Hitman/movie..?...I reckon that's probably quite a good 'family feud'/kick ass movie to get it out of your system.....

I pretty much go alone 80% of the time.
 Do they show classics too?
..the do have classics nights sometimes and other themes as well ..like on Halloween, it'll be some of the older classic horror movies but a lot of the time, it's the current releases only a few weeks later..I'll have to take a pic of the inside next time I go and show you because it's just so cool...it was originally a normal cinema and then it was bingo I think....and then they turned it into a theatre house and you always have to book because it's always full..well, it doesn't actually fit that many people...

Yeah sure, never have done it and probs won't anytime soon but that's just cos I'm a very rare cinema visitor anyway and don't tend to consider it worth the cost, but I would in principle. The cinema isn't exactly that sociable an experience and I'm generally pretty comfortable doing stuff on my own anyway

It's not that bad, it's dark no one can see you, i only did it because i didn't know my friend wasn't turning up, so i watched hannah montana on my own, was worried at first but it wasn't that bad, but it is better to have someone next to you

I couldn't go on my own, I'm one of those people that cinema goers hate, me and my friends always used to like, chat about the film and have a laugh while it's on.. I'd feel too awkward on my own
Also, the Hannah Montana movie? Gurl please :hehe:

Yeah, it's good to be with a friend to laugh at a sh*t film. But if you're going to watch something good then it's not very sociable anyway.

Yes but I don't really go there much
Nah I wouldn't.
I don't really like the cinema but when I do go I like to go with my partner so we can sit and roll eyes at each other and make faces when people around us are being annoying. :idc:

I go to watch the film, not chatter during the interval.

I've been a few times on my own. If there's something I want to see and nobody is around then I'll just go. Cinemas has got a bit better in the last few years for cracking down on idiots who disrupt everything. The thing that annoys me now is the sea of lights with people constantly on their phones.
Yeah, don't see the problem with going alone
I don't really see the point in going to the cinema in the first place considering we're in a world where you can get films online for free by purchasing them legally, ahem... unless people prefer it for the experience(/the smell of stale popcorn)

I never have, but I would. In the same way, I'd be perfectly happy to go out for lunch or dinner alone. No point in missing an experience just because it can't be a shared one :)

lol i dont see what is so embarrassing or whatever about going alone. its just a movie. its not like you're purposely being humiliated or being bullied or anything like that. i went to see Jeepers Creepers by myself. the only other time i have done it was if i wanted to see a certain movie more than once after i already went with others like i did with Troy and Revenge of the Sith. idc what people think and idc if people think im a loner. sometimes outside of even that i like being by myself. nothing wrong with that.

Never gone alone before. I go watch a lot of movies just cause I'm normally too impatient to watch a movie I really want to see at a later time (or in horrible quality online for that matter). If I'm the only one who wants to see it and I can't convince at least one other person, I just don't go. Don't necessarily care about being alone / being seen alone but for me it's just no longer worth the money or hassle to go without anyone else. When it's with a couple people it's a little more fun before/during/after the movie tbh.
