A lot of people love it, and a lot hate it.
Does 'Banter' leave you with a smirk or with a :umm2: face?

The word banter doesn't bother me at all, we were using it for a long time before it became a 'thing'

Lads don't bother me either, each to their own.

I like banter, that's not just a lad thing.. but the 'lad' culture itself disgusts me, it's just a race to see who can be perviest, it's gross.

Marsh.

I don't mind "banter", that's fine. Not necessarily a LAD thing either.

But the stereotypical lad culture in general, no I don't.

No... I don't find objectifying women funny at all and cannot stand most of the "lads" I know since they tend to be arrogant and cocky, it's just not my type of people at all.

I don't think that's solely confined to 'lads' tbf, even on here I have seen much more pervy conversations by members that aren't laddish.

MB shade :hehe:

It's not solely a 'lad' thing no, but the majority of them are all about seeing how many girls they can bed and who can bed the fittest 'bird' it's just demeaning and gives men a bad name, especially the 'lads' who think it's acceptable to cheat and be pervy just because they're boys and 'thats what they do'

A thread based around "lad culture" on a Big Brother forum where 90% of the males detest sport & talk in a sassy manner, theres only one way this thread is going to turn out.

What's that got to do with anything? People can like sports and not talk 'sassy' and still not like the 'lad' culture

Probably not in the extreme sense that everyone defines it on here. I would just use 'lads' like I would 'blokes/guys/etc.' The stereotype of a 'LAD' that people moan about isn't even that big of a thing or that common really, and most the people who do act like that are just taking the piss with it

I'm more in the middle of both options as I think some parts of Lad Culture can be amusing, but other parts of it are completely disgusting to me.

I voted no on the poll though as I like people of both genders to be individuals than playing up to gender stereotypes.

Now I know I gave up my 'lad' status the moment I signed up to a big brother forum but I'm the closest thing to a lad we have here so I'm gonna stick up for em. The environment can be a very good one for the most part. Most men know where to draw the line on things and if your comfortable a bit of friendly jibing is good.

Don't confuse a couple of half naked Geordies prancing about on a tv show for being a 'lad' cos those bellends don't represent anybody.
