Legalise it, take it out of the hands of criminals, tax it.

Only downside to legalizing it is that weed dealers/suppliers would either have to cut prices or start dealing something else. I also feel there may be quite alot of people who don't smoke weed because it's illegal, yet if it was they would and after a while would seek out something harder. That'd be Darwinism at it's fullest though so i don't think a few plonkers killing themselves with heroine etc. would be much of a tradeoff for weed being legal.
