Flavoursome witchetty grubs are back on the menu for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, according to a report.
Fans of the hit ITV programme will be pleased to see their return following the grubs being dropped last year for the first time since 2002.
The ban came after Australia suffered a national shortage of the larvae – which feed off wood before turning into moths – due to particularly rainy winter.
A spokesman for Queensland Museum, which specialises in insects, told Daily Star: “I’m sure they’ll find some under the roots of a witchetty tree.”
The 2014 celebrities will be pleased.
Previous contestants to devour the delicacies include Christopher Biggins, Charlie Brooks and Kim Woodburn.
Hopefully this year will see the return of the new trials too including Scares Rock – based on Uluru – Limo-Scream and the first ever submarine challenge, Sub-Merged.
