Peep Show airing final series in 2015 - prepare to say goodbye to Mark and Jez

Get ready Peep Show fans - it's soon going to be time to wish Mark and Jez farewell, as Channel 4 confirms the comedy will end in 2015.

With six episodes in each series, there are only a few more outings for the pair before they disappear forever.

There are no details yet on how the writers will say goodbye to the loser flatmates, played by Robert Webb and David Mitchell.

However, there are rumours that the pair won't be killed off.

According to Radio Times, the writers aren't planning on leaving Peep Show open-ended and this is definitely the final series - but they'll be keeping Mark and Jez alive.

Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain have been writing the comedy, soon to be in its ninth series, since it first aired in 2003.

It has won numerous awards, including Baftas, and helped launch the careers of Webb and Mitchell.

Set in Croydon, Peep Show follows the lives of Mark and Jez, with the story being told from each of their first-person perspectives.

Recurring characters include Broadchurch star Olivia Colman playing Mark's love interest and Matt King as Jez's best mate Super Hans.

The show has struggled to gain ratings in the past, with audience figures often hovering around the one million mark.

Discussing the numbers in 2009, Webb said: "It doesn't bother us because there are about a million people in this country who really, really like Peep Show and they'll keep watching."

Writer Bain added: "Channel 4 have always been incredibly supportive, a lot of other channels would have cancelled us but they've never done that."

Probably for the best. Last couple have been poor. The ending of the last one completely ruined the bond they had built on for so long between Mark and Jez.

It's a great show and has generally kept up its quality though the last series was a bit weak. It's not really been going that long either considering the series are pretty short (only 6 eps)
