How long do you keep clothes before you throw them out?

Until they are too small, torn, ruined, or left in the wardrobe and I never wear them anymore.

I clear out every few months and take stuff to the charity shop.

Until they are pretty much falling apart. I'm really picky with my clothes so I often get quite attached to them.

If they get holes in and are unwearable then i throw them out, i do have clothes and shoes that are years old, too small but i can't give them up, my daughters have found them out and call them vintage:laugh:

The clothes that my daughters grow out of go to charity, and my husband never throws anything away unless it's falling to pieces, he has clothes that must be over 20 years old:shocked:

depends really, some things I love so much I'll wear until they die, somethings I just get fed up with and get rid of

Until they're too small or beyond repair. If it's got a few holes or I don't like it any more or something then I'll just wear it around the house.

I have some clothes that belonged to mum, so i'm reluctant to throw them away.

Until they look shabby and I bin. I have no attachment to clothes.

I must add that I have 2 pairs of boxers that the crotch has almost perished but still believe that there is life in them yet - they have been great servants in the undercracker infantry

:hmph: This is something a woman will never understand

I had to throw one jumper away, because it shrank in the wash. I forgot it was a delicate and put the wrong temperature. :joker:

Depends... if it's something classic like a good suit I'll probably never throw it out. I collect vintage clothes and they're already old when I buy them! When I do get rid of stuff I give it to a charity shop.

I have way, way, way too many clothes ! I need a massive clear out but the thought of starting it - Urrgghh it'll take weeks but really has to be done. I give most to my local scout group for their jumble sales as i like to support local things for the kids - so if i get my finger out they'll have enough just from me for their next sale !!

This, until they fall apart.
