Glyn Wise has gone from Big Brother to Father Christmas

Big Brother star Glyn Wise could be popping through your letter box on Welsh-language Christmas cards.

He is on two cards, including "Dwi'n breuddwydio am Nadolig Glyn," a pun on gwyn, Welsh for white, which translates as "I'm dreaming of a Glyn Christmas".

The other is the pun-free but tuneful "Ding a ling a ling ling Glyn".

The 18-year-old, who has promoted the Welsh language since he was runner-up on the Channel 4 show, appears in the cards for the youth movement the Urdd.

Glyn, from Blaenau Ffestiniog, said the Urdd had played an important part in his life.

A former pupil of Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy, Llanrwst, he used to take part in Urdd activities, including sport and competing at the Eisteddfod.

"I have a lot of memories from my time as a member of the Urdd," said Glyn.

"I have also been to the Urdd's camps at Glan-llyn, Gwynedd, and worked as a so-called swog (a volunteer official looking after children at the camp) at Llangrannog, in mid Wales.

"I used to play football for the Urdd and sang a duet at the Eisteddfod.

"The Urdd offers such a range of experiences for children and young people - and it is so important that they do everything in Welsh.

"I think all the children of Wales should join the Urdd."

Urdd chief executive Efa Gruffudd Jones said she was proud Glyn had gained so much from his experiences with the movement.

"Glyn is possibly our most famous swog, and we hope that other people will now be keen to follow in his footsteps."

As well as promoting the language Glyn has said his ultimate goal is to be a Plaid Cymru AM.
