Cheryl Cole is on course to make chart history this weekend with her new single.
The X Factor judge will no doubt definitely care to hear that she’s set to score her fifth Official Singles Chart Number 1 this weekend with new single I Don’t Care.
It’s the second track to be taken from Cheryl’s upcoming fourth solo studio album Only Human, following her previous Number 1 Crazy Stupid Love earlier in the year.
According to the Official Charts Company, I Don’t Care has sold over 49,000 copies in the UK so far this week, following on from Cheryl’s performance on The X Factor on Sunday.
If its sales momentum continues into the weekend then will the song not only mark Cheryl’s tenth Number 1 in total (including four chart toppers with Girls Aloud and her appearance on the 2010 charity cover of R.E.M.’s Everybody Hurts for Helping Haiti), but will also make her the British female with the most Number 1 singles in history.
Cheryl’s five number ones would see her overtake current record sharers Geri Halliwell and Rita Ora.
Also benefiting from exposure on The X Factor this week is John Legend, who’s already hit song All Of Me has rocketed up the charts, climbing 22 places to the Number 4 spot in today’s midweeks.
