Yay, George done good.
We now only have to pay half of the £1.7 million and we can pay it back in two instalments.
I believe we don't have to pay it back until next summer now as well.

It is good to see that the EU does listen and is cooperative and although I don't care for George Osborne, he has talked more conciliatory and sensibly as to this bill unlike his Leader.
Good one.

Thats because
the Danish have agreed with the UK.
Other nations are also getting with us.
(take a note Ed)

And worse the Euro Tax deal in Luxembourg
is Corrupt as hell.
Also nothing is changing on that Corruption

Thing is though,

1) We agreed to pay this when we entered the EU.
2) The UK gets 20 billion pounds a year as a result of migration from the EU.

Hmmm... not such a victory, plenty of spin though.

To be fair, part is a half rebate when full amount had to be paid by December 1st.
That is not now the case, as I understood it only half of it is to be paid in 2 stages in 2015 so not all at once.

Maybe a bit of spin and also a compromise, this shows that talking and working together is far better than threats of picking up our ball and stopping the game by walking away.

I am a great believer in compromise.
Spin, compromise and whatever else it took, it looks much better from this angle.

Had the EU put it this way at the outset, there would have far less to moan about.
We were still going to have to pay the full 1.7 billion in a few weeks. Now we don't and in fact because of the rebate too,we only have to pay half and in 2 stages later next year.

From where I am sitting, a fair bit has been achieved to be fair as you say too.

I don't think this is any kind of success.Osborne has'nt saved the country any money at all.We would've paid £1.7 Billion and recieved an £850 million rebate anyway? So we have paid exactly what we were going to,£850 million.Nothing has actually been achieved at all.

Shhh, you're only supposed to look at the numbers, the beautiful numbers that Mr Osbourne has beautifully etched on this sparkly silver coin and pulled from behind your ear OOOOHHH how did he do that??? Clever George!!

Don't be doing daft things like applying reason or logic to his illusions. It just ruins the fun for everyone.

Europe could erase it's debt tomorrow if Switzerland cashed in all those gold jew teeth from ww2.
