The theme has been announced for X Factor 2014 live week 7: Whitney Houston vs Elton John.

The choice revealed on Xtra Factor by creative director Brian Friedman. It was said also the Stevi and Andrea (or their respective judges) had wanted to perform the same song.

Only the Young - I can see Louis forcing 'Crocodile Rock' on them
Stereo Kicks - either something overly romantic like Your Song, or woefully miscast like Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me
Stevi - I demand 'I'm Still Standing' after tonight's result
Lauren - actually she'll probably do the Ellie version of Your Song, the dreary cow

When there is only 7 they should have just stuck to either just Whitney or just elton it makes no sense to have three elton john songs amongst 4 Whitney Houston songs or vice versa. To be honest as much as these two artists will suit all of the acts they should have come up with a theme to keep things fresh so that entirely new songs could be performed and that won't make the acts look outdated but yet again they rehash old themes

With all the old themes, and as I always cheer on modern singers to win this show it's not helping when they get old themes blocking them every week like poor Luke and Lauren have had happen to them.
