We can officially announce that Gemma Collins has left the I'm A Celebrity... jungle.

The TOWIE star has struggled to cope with life in Camp over the past few days and today decided she should leave permanently.

A spokesperson for the show said: "We're sorry to see Gemma go but respect her decision and wish her well."

From her complaints about jungle food to her self-diagnosis of malaria due to those constant trips to the dunny and "worst diarrhoea ever", it's fair to say Gemma's time in Camp has been eventful.

Oh and who could forget that shaky (and ever so slightly screamy) start to the show, as she stepped into (and then out of) our helicopter!

So it's farewell Gemma and officially goodbye to our first Campmate of the series.

To see Gemma's departure, be sure to tune in when Ant and Dec return tonight at 9pm on ITV.

Kian was on This Morning and was asked about fee and contract , he told the viewers that the celeb gets paid by the day ...not sure I buy it .:nono:

It has been claimed that a contentious 72-hour rule will enable Gemma to collect her hefty appearance fee - despite making an early exit.

While her I'm A Celeb fee remains undisclosed, it is believed to exceed the £15,000 she reportedly earned for a brief appearance on Tom Daley's diving show Splash in 2013.

An ITV spokesperson declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline

According to the event's official website the 33-year-old TOWIE star is guest presenter at the star-studded show, which takes place at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel in London, on Saturday evening.

Gemma is thought to be joining TV personality Matt Johnson at the ceremony after last year's host, presenter Jeff Brazier, was forced to step down.

The 'orrible cow. She accepted Tinchy's 'Get Out Of Jail' gesture, knowing full well that she was going to walk very shortly once the 72 hours were up which guaranteed her fat pay cheque, so why didn't she refuse and let one of the others out of jail?

Gemma Collins has blamed her recent breakup for quitting I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.



Last night we saw Gemma leave the camp as she declared: “I can’t do this, I’ve never felt so unhappy in all my life.

“You have to get me out of here. I don’t want to do it any longer. I just have to get out.”

The TOWIE star told producers via the Bush Telegraph: “It’s making me feel panicked and stressed. This is terrible, it’s not normal. It’s not about food, I’m not cut out for this.”

Speaking today after her exit, Gemma admitted: “The jungle was harder than I ever expected, I am just not as strong as I thought I was.”

She told The Sun newspaper: “A personal and very serious incident that happened to me hours before I flew to Australia affected me in camp far more than I could have imagined and I just couldn’t carry on in there.

“It was my decision to go in regardless and I never expected not to complete my time in there.

“I am so, so sorry that I have let people down, but I had to make the decision to walk away.”



Show hosts Ant and Dec meanwhile have admitted that they were surprised that Gemma did really decide to leave.

Dec said: “We thought it was a bit of bluster. She was a bit of a drama queen, let’s be honest.

“We thought ‘she’ll never go’ and then she was gone. I think she couldn’t stick it. She was obviously on a massive detox in here.”

Ant added: “You are up and down in there and if she had stuck it out a few days she would have got better. But the camp will move on.”

There’s since been claims that Gemma’s exit from the jungle may have been planned.

The Daily Star newspaper reports that Gemma is due to front the British Plus Size Awards show later this week, having originally been announced as the host back on September 30.
