I don't understand why he hasn't faced a similar sentence as any other would be terrorist, he is no different to them.

This man is a terrorist pure and simple, unlike quite a few Muslim men who are arrested and charged with terrorist offences which often simply boil down to them talking about what they might do, this guy actually built a nail bomb.

For me he has crossed the line and should be convicted of conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism and should receive a lengthy prison term.

You can't jail on intent though, unless there was a detailed plan of action found. It's good that these individuals are being identified however whatever background.

I agree, no matter how unpleasant the thoughts of these people may be it is still ones private personal thoughts are just that and until acted upon are nobodies business.

Last time I looked we did not have thought police .... Yet

Building a Nail Bomb however is a completely different matter.

Would you guys prefer that we let them blow up around 30 people before we do anything? Prevention is better than cure.
