Robbie Williams has announced that he will release a new album next week, on the same day his former bandmates Take That release their latest record.

Williams announced the news of his surprise album to fans earlier today. Titled 'Under The Radar: Volume 1', it will be Williams' first album since 2013's 'Swings Both Ways'. Speaking to his supporters online, Williams admitted that those around him think he's a "lunatic" to release an album with no promotion.

"I'll let you into a secret, Guy Chambers isn't happy with me putting these songs on this album," Williams says in the video, which can be seen below. "He thinks I'm a lunatic for not putting them on an album that we've promoted with TV performances and at radio stations and a big tour. But I'm an impetuous bugger, and I want them out now, now, now!"

Take That's new album 'III' is also released on December 1. 'III' was recorded with producers including Greg Kurstin (Lana Del Rey, Lykke Li, Katy Perry), John Shanks (Take That), Stuart Price (Madonna, The Killers) and Jeff Lynne of the band ELO, with work largely taking place at the band’s own studios and London's Abbey Road Studios.

Who'll get #1 then?

This thread is about their new material being released 2014. Robbie hasn't done anything worth listening to since the late 90s. :smug:

Strong, Feel, Supreme, Let Love Be Your Energy, Road to Mandalay, She's the One, Rock DJ, Radio, Lovelight, You Know Me, Bodies, Angels, Millenium, No Regrets, Eternity, Come Undone, Sexed Up, Something Beautiful :worship: :worship: :worship:

and that's not even mentioning the sublime masterpiece that is:

(it's not actually my favourite song, that's probably Let Love Be Your Energy, Eternity or You Know Me)

Name a rival though

Justin Timberlake is lame af and had maybe 5 great songs, Will Young is probably the closest British comparison but hasn't had anywhere near the discography, and then there's just silly answers in Olly Murs/Bruno Mars, and objectively terrible ones (Bieber)

plus MJ/Prince post-94 was pretty crap. I suppose Usher is a good shout but he's done too much crap as well.
