Anyone been to Vietnam?

I'm flying out for a couple of weeks on Thursday, and just wondered if anyone had any recommendations?

We are spending the first 3 days in Saigon then doing a Mekong river trip - but we haven't quite decided on the rest of the journey! We have heard Hoi An is beautiful so will probably visit there, and we are flying back out of Hong Kong.

I'd love to hear if anyone has any must see / don't go experiences.

Only 2 weeks unfortunately...really looking forward to it but not quite sure as to what to expect!

Don;t go in with too many expectations, the country will blow you away but just let it come naturally rather than go with impressions from others.

Ben, I have found someone at work who has also been there and she says pretty much the same as you - amazing, favourite country ever, don't plan beyond a general route but DO visit Hoi An as it has some cuisine unique to itself.
