Logo top right hand corner of the screen "CBB: Tuesday 9pm".
Maybe Viacom employ people with some brain cells and can do this in the days running up to launch.
So simple yet effective.

Viacom run adds for Channel 5 on most of their channels now. I watch Catfish on MTV and Channel 5 is constantly promoted on there.
They even promote 5* so imagine a logo on MTV to get word of mouth flowing.

They do this often on MTV and Comedy Central.
As another poster said, few BB viewers watch Channel 5 most of the time.
However, if they put a DOG on the screen with something like "CBB - Tuesday 9pm - Channel 5" or something; basically, have this on screen at all times on all their channels.

But what about 800k to 1.5 million of people watching the channel nightly? A simple logo ad has massive potential to pull in curious new viewers which is what the show needs...A fresh audience.
They are stupid not to do it.

A lot of people watch c5 for films though especially around xmas/new year time, they should have that kind of stuff during them

Yeah, they should just put text in the corner saying when BB starts on all Viacom channels; Channel 5, 5*, 5USA, Comedy Central, MTV, Viva, etc.
I wonder if there's fans who don't even know it's still on.
People on Facebook only found out Big Brother was still on during BB15's final when people were posting about it. Anyway, it could be a good way to attract old viewers as well as new ones.

Exactly; most people probably won't know it's back on, if the advertising is anything like previous years, so a message like this on Viacom's youth focused channels (while bloody annoying) would be a great help in getting the word out.
Would love to see eye flashes on these channels too :P

When I said to a friend last year I was watching Big Brother they didn't even know it was still being made... C5 really need to up their game with advertising.
Hopefully with Viacom around we could see some cross advertising now. Big Brother fits MTVs target groups perfectly. Hopefully that's used to Big Brother's advantage next year.

As well as this, some people (my nan for instance) thought it ended in 2010!
They could advertise it during Geordie Shore on MTV (although I think Geordie Shore may actually be off air when its on so bad bet - but any repeat would do) and the Friends repeats on Comedy Central. During Home And Away and Neighbours omnibuses on VIVA would be good (and also on Channel 5, Home and Away and Neighbours are the best bets for showing the advert on Channel 5). If they create the advert before Christmas, showing it during Christmas Day on VH1 Christmas Songs would be great (everybody puts on Christmas songs during present opening!).

Yeah, I get a lot of people, when I say I watch Big Brother, saying "they still make that?" or something similar.
Unfortunately, for them, if they follow my Twitter, they'll be made well aware its still on TV :P
All they need to do is get a decent advertising campaign going like back in the old days on Channel 4. I didn't start watching Big Brother until a few years after it started, but I always remember seeing the ads on TV, the beach one especially always stuck in my head (this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGUjix80I0s) however this is just not done anymore. Simple is more - if they did ads like the beach one where it didn't have any presenters screaming their lungs out over some horrendous unorganised graphics, it would be a lot more catchy.
If I'm correct, Channel 5 are now owned by Viacom, this is a huge opportunity for Channel 5 and Viacom to cross-promote. Big Brother could easily be promoted and advertised to hell on MTV during Geordie Shore, attracting the younger audience (and some older), but it's basically free advertising for them. I imagine when it gets round to the time when the show starts, they'll probably do just that.
I agree with Daniel's point, they really ought to be doing whatever they can to give this January's series the best possible chance (Let's face it, they'll probably be basing the success of this next celeb series on whether or not they should keep the show beyond next year). Good celeb names will help - the hardcore fans know that the more famous doesn't always mean more entertaining, but getting the big names out there will attract different and hopefully more viewers. Good advertising, and bring back live feed!
