Has anyone been watching this?
I think it's great! Its on quite late but its great T.V. I prefer it to the normal hollyoaks..The story lines are more hard hitting.

It was a really good episode last night, made me cry!

I watch it sometimes and its really funny. I just hope it gets enough viewers so they continue it rather than scrap it.

Lol yeah it is funny, there's some good actors in it. I only watch the repeats on Channel 4, they are on everynight at like 12..but i watched one on E4 and then started watching them on Channel 4, and the channel 4 ones are repeats and its confusing me! I dunno which one is newer!

E4 Hollyoaks spin-off In The City has been axed after only one series.

Announcing the decision on his blog, series writer and producer Daran Little explained that the viewing figures had been "too little for the show to be recommissioned".

"It's sad but, on reflection, not that sad; I've achieved what I set out to - produced a story about the corruption of innocence and life in a model agency," he continued. "The 20 episodes tell a complete story, questions are answered and above all it's been great fun. I've challenged and pushed actors and they've delivered 100%."

The programme, currently being repeated on Channel 4, starred Gemma Atkinson and Marcus Patrick - both of Hollyoaks fame - with guest appearances from the likes of former Coronation Street legend Julie Goodyear, ex-Emmerdale star Claire King and Kym Ryder, who currently plays barmaid Michelle Connor on the Street.

Could see that happening, shame really but only so long it could go on for as the story would get dull.

Trust it all to happen in the last episode!! :nono:

All that was missing was the eastenders 'dum dum'.

Gays coming out of the closet, someone toping themselves, someone intended to be raped, a good samaritan shot and killed, a marriage break-up, a man beaten up.....

Heaven.

Theres a petition going around on DigitalSpy that I signed, it has to come back!

Everyone is good with the exception of the dire Effie Woods!

I saw the first few shows - Missed the middle - but watched the final show last night.

It is brillant - Better then normel Hollyoaks. They got to make another series.

I think they might bring another type of spin off...this one has achieved what it was set out to..showing you the bad side of sex, drugs, drink & money etc and they all ended up sad. There are a handful of really good actors in it...much better than the first spin off series. I would love to see it on tv again but not sure where exactly they can go from this point or what story would be gripping if this story couldn't attract the right viewing figures.

They could always do a what happened next type of thing and showed if each of them went their seperate ways or what road they went down but only the people who watched this series would be interested in finding out therefore it would be pretty pointless attracting any new viewers. I can see the actors being snapped up for other tv and soaps rather than seeing another series sadly.

I love it, the first series was good but this one was even better. I've not missed a single episode, loved every storyline.

The problem was, the writers knew it wasn't getting a second series, and they kind of "ended" everything with the finale. So, there isn't really any place to go. Polly is probably dead.. Ben is definitely dead. Stella and Burton will be in jail no doubt.. and I dunno what will happen to Lisa. A lot of main characters lost with that finale.

HOLLYOAKS’ sexy late-night spin-off In the City has been axed by Channel 4.

The show, which starred Gemma Atkinson in a series of raunchy storylines, will not return after bosses decided ratings weren’t strong enough.

However, Channel 4 said it was looking at new ideas for spin-off shows from the popular Chester-based soap.

The late night In the City series ran for 20 episodes on E4 from August last year and was then repeated on Channel 4.

It took elements and characters from Hollyoaks and plunged them into more adult storylines.

However, it was never a major hit with viewers.

A previous spin-off series, Hollyoaks Let Loose, also featured more raunchy storylines but that too was axed.

The main Hollyoaks show continues to do the business for Channel 4 however, pulling in an average of 2.2 million viewers last year – its highest rating for three years.
