You're right that the Jeremy speculation got out of hand.

Not in regards to racism though so it could very well be something racist. Although because he seems to have more issues with perez something homophobic is probably more likely

If it's to do with Perez then Ken probably said something like **** and Perez went screaming and crying into the diary room about how homophobic and horrible it was.

The housemates have wanted him out for days anyway so Ken has probably just said something then the other housemates have taken it too personally. I bet this one is mostly down to housemates reactions rather than what has come out of Ken's mouth.

Well, he can't make Ken say something, but he can twist a situation to make it worse. He loudly branded Ken a homophobe the other day and we saw nothing or the sort (and I doubt C5 would have cut it).

That said, I think Ken's left because of his own mouth and inability to heed his warning, rather than the machinations of Perez.

tbf though we don't know that Ken didn't say something homophobic either, we weren't shown him say the thing about cami being half a ***** or her dress or whatever either but he did say it. He's said so much racist, sexist and xenophobic things since he's been in there it wouldn't be that hard to believe that he'd also said something homophobic

That's true, but Perez was more than happy to be Ken's friend, and pass on what the others were saying about him, earlier that day. That makes me suspicious of whether he ever said anything homophobic. Even if he did, Perez didn't seem to have a problem with it until they were arguing.

Daran Little, a gay former writer for Coronation Street, rejected the suggestion that Ken is homophobic.

He probably made another dodgy comment (similar to his "negro" comment to Alexander) not necessarily meant as an insult. Regardless, the way Perez just brought it up in the middle of an argument doesn't sit right with me.

In regards to the negro comment, it wasn't even just his use of the word that made it so bad but the context he used it in was awful as well. He said fat negro and he was speaking as if he was in the deep south talking to one of the "help" it was completely insulting even if you forgave the use of the word negro on it's own

I agree, I think he was out of line, I just mean that I don't think it was intended maliciously, but that doesn't take away the insulting nature of the words. You're right of course, but this just further explains my point about Perez. Alexander was able to deal with the situation calmly and rationally, instead of storing it up as ammo to use against Ken later.

As a mixed race gay guy, the fact that racism and homophobia still exist within some people horrifies me, but so does members of certain communities using it to help themselves in an argument. I just can't respect a gay guy who'll say nothing, even be the person's ally, and then use the "You're also homophobic" thing later just because he's in the middle of a blazing row with him.

My main reason for being sceptical is that, in Saturday's episode, they showed Ken's comment to Alexander, his comments about the women, Jeremy's incident with Chloe, so I don't see why they'd make an effort to cut homophobic remarks. Especially if they were still going to show Perez branding him homophobic.

Add this to actually seeing Perez being perfectly friendly, even going as far as to expose the others' comments about him, in the same episode. I'm not saying he didn't say something homophobic, but it would be a little strange considering what we did see.

I mean, I guess a comment could have been said between Perez being friendly with Ken and their big blow-up later, but I still don't get why they'd cut it and leave the "homophobic" accusation intact.
