For saying ARSE ? very disappointed

No, for continuing to break the rules despite having received a formal warning for his behaviour and language, which included calling somebody a negro and another a 'half-slut'. I don't think it's been stated at all that he was thrown out for saying arse.

Mokka
12-01-2015, 05:40 PM
I'd have to see what he did to get kicked out

I didn't see anything as of yet that warranted it. He took correction on the N word as far as I could see, and that was the most egregious thing to date

Again, he was removed for a constant breaking of the rules after a formal warning, and that includes the several offensive comments that he's made over the past few days. Neither you or I know what tipped it over the edge, so I've no idea why you're making out that you do except to try and make a point against 'tha evil PC brigade!!!1!!!1'.

Growing up in Africa It was used as a term of emdearment for little ones.

Anyway, I'm pleased because I genuinely feared that he wouldn't have been evicted, and that might have been the worst eviction result ever.

I didn't think it was derogatory (not that I would ever say it) but I do now :laugh:I dont remember it being derogatory either but I grew up in a Jamaican household where that word was used to describe kids and not necessarily black kids but it looks like its yet another word that has many meanings and in different contexts is considered offensive. When Ken said it on Saturday I was more shocked and surprised than offended.

Not sure. On the one hand he was an obnoxious bigoted prick and people like that shouldn't get a platform. On the other hand, BB is supposed to be 'reality' tv, and reality sadly includes people like him.

I understand why they had to though, given the fact that he offended so many.

Not sure. I think he was a define troll in there and it was great to see them over react to absolutely everything, because of how much he was able to wind them up. Tbf BB is a mix of morality and entertainment (preferably entertainment) for me but I am trying my hardest to blend the two this year.

Anyway my point is would I want to live with Ken over people like Calum, Kavana, Patsy, Alexander, and Alicia? No, but would I rather watch him than most of them names on the list? Yes, would I say that he is more entertaining than all of them on the list? Yes even though I do like Alicia and Alexander.

I just don't understand why these are reasons to warrant being disappointed at him not being in the house. For anybody. So what if you couldn't take him seriously? If he's a slightly better person than possibly the two worse hms of all time?

It comes down to this; if you're entertained by an awful man doing awful things then you really should question the ways you find enjoyment but that's all up to you. The only thing you (and thousands of other people) NEED to understand is: You being entertained is not more important than morality and human rights.

Maybe you just don't understand how big this is but it is a national show which goes outside of your living room. It's not about you.

He had to go really, being old just isn't an excuse for being ignorant, and he just couldn't seem to get his head around what was wrong with affecting a southern US accent and talking about a "nice big fat nheegrooowww" (Alexander was quite clearly offended by this and the pickaninnies comment, he did a very good job of staying calm).

Or referring to "n**** rhythms", or that just because a woman might choose to make money by occasionally showing off her body, she is not automatically fair game for near-constant objectification.

Even when he was booted he looked totally shocked like "but what did I do wrong?"... Even after a previous warning.

So, he would just have continued like that. For his own sake he really needed to go, he would have ended up blundering into saying worse.

However - from a purely selfish perspective - it was excellent car-crash telly and I was really quite enjoying waiting for his next spectacular **** up :hehe:.

The premise if the show is throwing different personalities into the mix, it shows Nadia is mentally weak as she let him get the better of her and she was unable to handle it wheras Alexander who had a lot more to be upset about handled Ken beautifully.

I'm extremely pleased! He made my skin crawl from the very beginning and his ignorance is very offensive. Good riddance

I don't think Ken took the most diplomatic approach to language, especially in this current climate of hyper-sensitivity.

But I found Nadia's deliberate 'in your face' and personal provocation of Ken far more aggressive and offensive than anything he said.

I also thought Perez staring at him, making that comment about how ken should 'fear for his safety' and then calling him a pig to his face and a 'cancer' behind his back was far more aggressive and offensive than anything Ken said.

However i don't think any of them should be thrown out - because i believe in free speech.

I would defend anyone's right to disagree with me or insult me.

Pleased hes gone. His "shock tactics" were mildly entertaining to start with, but were becoming increasingly more serious. Also I dont think he was capable of doing anything much else.

You are spot on in everything you have written. I also believe Nadia should have had a warning for her continuous in your fact approach to Ken. I'm still dissappointed that he was removed.

He said the N word again to Keith Chegwin regarding Frank Bruno's music (he referred to his music as N**** rhythyms), BB then called him to the diary room for removal it was right at the end. It's at around 40 mins into the programme

Surprised nobody seems to have mentioned that:conf:

Unless something has changed in society recently, he didn't use "the 'n' word", he used the word 'negro'. I believe this is still considered to be a descriptive word denoting a person's ethnic origins.

'Negro' was corrupted into what we now refer to as "the 'n' word" and that definitely is an unacceptable word, although it has been 'reclaimed' by some parts of the black community (eg NWA).

Ken Morley may have done many unpleasant things but he didn't use "the 'n' word".

He did use an N word just not the one you were thinking of.

The shorter n word is considered a racial slight now. The folks that decide these things decided that black was the description they wanted, and that other terms were unacceptable, This rose to prominence in to 60's so 50 years ago now.

If he'd said the six-letter version, which is an intentionally offensive corruption of the other, I'd condemn him for it.

The shorter word, however, is less cut and dried, as for some older generations it is still considered acceptable (apparently it still appears on the US Census for this reason). Of course, it is still unwise to use it and I would not normally defend Ken Morley but for someone of his age particulary this may have been a harsh judgement.

hes a harmless brilliant comic actor. warned for what? saying he likes a womans arse.....making a joke about being from ockney land and Ireland, and used the Spanish word for black in regular chat? hasn't abused people the way nadia perez has, hasn't bitten anyone the way cammi did, has threatened to punch someones face in the way patsy did, or started someone down and tried to stir up and incite violence the way perez did when he warned him........of course denise welch got away with all this, even hitting Michael madsen in the face and pulling a womans trusers down...sexist drivel, all going in 1 direction, down the toilet

Celebrity Big Brother 2015 housemates ‘forced’ bosses to boot Ken Morley from the show, it’s been claimed.

The Daily Star newspaper reports that show producers felt they had no choice but to kick Ken out after a number of other housemates threatened to walk.

Nadia Sawalha, Perez Hilton and Patsy Kensit all threatened to quit the show in the lead up to Ken’s exit.

In the Diary Room last night we saw Nadia claim that Ken had made her feel ill while Perez compared the soap star’s exit to being “cancer free”.

The Daily Star newspaper reports that Ken was removed after the celebs even began to pack their bags to leave the show.

“If they had all gone, it would have been the end of the show, probably for ever. There is no way that BB could have survived the shock of a mutiny of that order,” a source told the tabloid today.

In the end of course Ken pretty much sealed his own fate with more offensive and unacceptable language following his warning at the weekend.

Speaking yesterday, Ken hit out at show producers for editing out some of the other housemates’ behaviour towards him.

He revealed on Loose Women: “Cami came down the stairs, she walked behind me and she bit me hard on the ear. I jumped up and said, ‘Why have you done that?’ And she said, ‘Cos you like it’. Did you see that? No you didn’t!”
