I will be having an operation to fix a para umbilical hernia on 06 February 2015 at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, so not sure how long after that I will be back on line.
They say it is day surgery, but am always worried things might not go according to plan.
I have been trying to compile the obligatory "In case you die, list of contacts list" but I do not have an active phone number or email address for TIBB
Any suggestions?

I still live.
Out of hospital at last, but seeing a district nurse.
Expect to be off work for six weeks.
Have to venture out tomorrow to see ifa prescription my doctor is sending to my nominated chemist has arrived. I have nobody to go for me, so will be a scary trip.

Great to see you are ok Sticks.
Now then, can you try ringng the chemist first, most chemists (pharmacies) in our area will deliver if you have trouble getting to them.
Not sure what it is like where you live, but might be worth a ring.

Glad you're on the mend Sticks, don't push yourself ring the DN if you don't want to risk the trip :)

Have rung them, explained about coming out of surgery at the weekend, but no suggestion of a delivery service. Looks like I will have to go after all.

Hope you're feeling better soon Sticks....if you do go to the Pharmacy - ask them about delivery. All the chemists in my area do it too and its a free service. They even pick repeat prescriptions up from the gp

I made it in, I also asked if I needed to purchase fresh dressing from them, but they made no hint of a delivery service, probably because I had dragged myself in there
