It brought back memories to when I was in a similar position to Lance. Obviously not being whacked over the head with a golf club, but having someone who is confused send you mixed signals.

It's haunting because I know I could've been at the brunt of abuse if things turned out differently. And it's sad (but I'm happy RTD has included it) that there are still people who are in such denial of their sexuality that it warps them to the point of taking their self-hatred out on innocent people.

The article was a good read too, and helped me to digest it all. It is kind of too bad that this series was set up from the start to be only one season b/c I think it is one of the most thought provoking pieces of TV I have come across.
I disagree with Goldheart... it is not a wasted series, but it is not a happy happy joy joy show either. It is confusing and disheartening, but I think it does examine a whole part of human nature we do not like to be confronted with when we sit down for "entertainment" from the boob tube.

and 8 episodes!!! too what exactly is the last 2 episodes leading up to now that 1 of the main character has been killed in a grizzly random way is it the last we see of psycho perv Daniel ? :bored:

You're looking at it on a very superficial level. There is a deeper meaning to the series and the death of Lance. It's exploring darker sections of society. Just read the article/interview link I posted and really it makes you appreciate the show far more. Although judging by your comments I would hazard a guess that this show simply isn't aimed at you as a viewer.

It was a weak finale, even if it did tie up loose ends.

It's a shame it was always intended as a one-off series, I think there could have been potential to have had a few series. It has been a good show on the whole although I doubt it will live in memory as an iconic show.

Would like to see another series of Banana, maybe start that with a story that follows throughout. Seeing more of Adam's story (in the early days) would be great, exploring more of his sexuality rather than the quick "he has a girlfriend" line we got from Cucumber.

What's missing on TV is a multi-series gay drama.
