I have just discovered that a friend of ours was killed in an avalanche in the Queyras mountain range of France. Carol, who has battled cancer, was a fantastic skier and a gutsy and intrepid big wall climber.

Carol lived in France but the Queyras is very popular amongst British tourists. I would recommend to any of you who are going over that way in the next few weeks not to go off piste.

Thank you

I'm a great believer in people living life to the full and Carol and her friends certainly did that.

That's crappy, sorry for your loss. It can't be easy seeing it all broadcast all over the telly etc. it's so impersonal when you think of those who are closely affected

Thank you everyone. It sucks because I can't fly at the moment otherwise I would go to her funeral. I'll be with her in spirit though.
